    Bizarre Choppy Problem

Searched the boards, didn't find anything that specific to my problem other than DirectX 8.1 which I tried reinstalling to no success. Anyway, here's the problem...

Running TeamSpeak and Operation Flashpoint. While logged into a TS server and not running the game I am sending/receiving very well. Start the game and still sending/receiving well. When I join a server sending is still ok but receiving is very choppy to the point of complete uselessness.

The problem persists on some servers but not others, but mostly it persists. I'm running the following stuff that's important...

Windows 2000 SP2 all recent hotfixes
    Operation Flashpoint v1.42
Soundblaster Live! Value sound card with most recent drivers
Asus V7700 Deluxe video card running Detonator
    Athlon 1Ghz Thunderbird CPU
    Abit KT7A-RAID motherboard
Cable modem running through a Linksys Router
    TeamSpeak version 1.5
The error is highly reproducable and not time/day dependant

Problem 1 Example: Logging into ip 205.177.13.71:2254 I can send perfectly but receiving is choppy and useless. Exception is when I log into 209.163.146.143:2234 everything is ok. Could port have anything to do with it? This all happens when running in DirectSound mode because Wave In/Out gives me other problems (see below).

Problem 2 Example: If I attempt to use Wave In/Out set to my SB Live driver when I attempt to connect to a TeamSpeak server I get a "WaveInOpen Specified Resource is already allocated" followed by an application error that says the following....

    Exception class: ESoundOut_wave
    Exception address: 0046DFFE
    IsMainThread: True

Not cool. Anyways, my real gripe is that it will run in DirectSound mode but it becomes intolerably choppy. Any idea? I know it's not a bandwith issue, or lack of computing power, so now I'm really curious. Any help would be appreciated since I'm about to resort to either not using TeamSpeak or reinstalling EVERYTHING. But most likely the former. Thanks in advance.

Have you used DXDIAG and modified hardware acceleration?
Go to DXDIAG, click on sound. Move the slider for Hardware Acceleration to the left once or twice, and then click OK. Stop and restart the game and the TS client and it should be better/solved.

Apparently the SBL is known to have this issue with some DirectSound applications

    Good Luck !!!
