Problems with subchannels
Hi!
My clan got a new 100 Slot Teamspeak2 Server. I am the admin and created a mainchannel with different subchannels for every squad.
This works for about 10 minutes. After this you get following error message:
http://www.oc-tweaks.de/Florian/TS2.JPG
You receive this message when you try to switch into a subchannel (it doesnt matter if you are an admin or a normal user). Only an admin can now move the user into subchannels.
I asked in #teamspeak. They told me that i have to push the limit of the mainchannel up to 700 oder more. I tried but it doesnt work.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

I think the amount of players specified in the Main Channel may not be exceeded by the sum of players in its subchannels

Adjust the number of players in the main channel to the sum of maximum players in all its subchannels?
That's just a guess, I never had so many people on my TS server that I had to worry about user limits.

It may just be a problem with the linux version as a friend says he can't see the problem with windows...
Anyways, the problem I am seeing on two differant linux servers I connect to is that the sub channels are counting EVERY member in the entire chanel family... so lets say you have a channel family called counter-strike, with two sub channels, one called scrim and one called open. If the scrim subchannel has a limit of 5 players, and the open channel has 5 players in it already, then the scrim channel is counting the players in the open channel (and any other players in the entire family actually) and thinking it has reached it's max. number of users. This only started with the latest update, and I havn't confirmed myself that it doesn't happen in a windows server as I don't connect to any...
I have not found a fix other then to make sure that all the sub channels have a max limit at least 1 higher then the max number for the channel family (not a fix really, but better then having to get server admins to drag everyone into the right channels.)

makes sense to me, and in my mind it should work that way.
If a main channel has a limit of 10 people, then the sub-channels of the main shouldn't be able to exceed that limit. So the question is how many users can the main channel have. If I read it right the user limit is 4, which you have reached.
Will check to verify, this myself. It does sound like your at your user limit for the main channel.

no the main channel can have 120 users allowed, but if the sub channel is set to 10, and another sub channel has 12 people in it, the channel that should let 10 people join as well (12 + 10 = WAY less then 120) doesn't let you join it because it counts ALL sub channels and then checks that number against what it will allow...
So here is my setup:
Planetside (30 users)
subchannel1 (10 users)
subchannel2 (10 users)
subchannel3 (10 users)
If there are 10 people in subchannel1, no one is able to join subchannel2 or subchannel3.
OR, if there are 5 users in subchannel1 and 5 users in subchannel2, no one can joint subchannel3, and no one else can join subchannel1 or 2 even though the channel family should allow 20 more users.

I saw this same issue on my TS server that I rent. I had to make the SubChannels the same Max Users at the parent channel. Which I dislike. I believe this is a bug IMO.
