Prevent my server from appearing in master list?
I'd like to be able to prevent my server from registering itself with the master server, so that other people cannot see it by going to the Web Server List tab. How can I accomplish this?
I am running my server on Linux, if that matters. Thanks in advance :}

i don't know linux-version, but there is a ini-file with lines like posturl=
webpost_linkurl=
? make sure, there is no url behind the equal-sign.

but how do you get off the list once you are on it? I am tired of people asking me to host their clan/squad/guild thats why i listed myself as privite.

hi
at future versions you can set it to private. so its not listed
in the list but reported to us.

I take it that you use the information of the server being reported to you for your statistics page, yes?
I have no problem with that, but from what I have seen with 'phoning home' programs so far is that this is not liked, and maybe an option to disable it alltogether would be nice to have.
So that nobody can come up with speculations such as TS2 server would countain spyware or other strange ideas.
Just judging from past experiences.

well...
mainly we just want it for displaying how many servers/users etc are online.
i will go to add the "private" switch again. so you can decide between:
- dont report at all (in ini setting enabled=false (latest version))
- report but dont list at weblist (with private=1)
- fully report
think that should give all an option they like

Hi Ralf,
Can u explain how to implement this as I am running an unpassworded server and have been getting lots of idiots in the server today. I do not want to password it as I want people to be able to join it and I am letting other flight simmers see it running and converting most of um. I desperatley need to stop my server being show on the main list, don't mind pasing info to you guys but not the main list. Thanks.

It seems to like phoning home on port 1031 ... perhaps you can block that. As I just realized, the browsers are down and it's way after the question...
