TS problems (cant connect)
I hope there is a good answer for what I am imagining is a stupid question.
I am running the latest version of TS on a p2.8c, with a gig of RAM, 80 gig SATA, & an audigy soundcard. I have DSL service that is going thru my Linksys Router, & am using XP with the firewall turned off.
Anytime I try to connect to a server that is using port 8767, it gives me the response that the server does not exist, or may not be running TS. Well, I went into my router menu & opened 8767~8767 on my internal ip (192.168.1.*) & still fail to connect. I set my PC in the DMZ & again, I get the message.
I am a hopeless noob, in need of some help!!! Please tell me what to do before I throw my monitor thru the wall!!!
thanks!

when running only the client, no port forwarding is required. Now the only thing I can guess is that you still have a firewall blocking the connection (either win XP default firewall, an add. personal firewall, a firewall on your router,...). If you have zonealarm, you better do a search here as this one causes a lot of probs.

Guldi,
First off, thanks for your responce.. this problem is really makign me insane. The only two FWs I could have on my XP box, would be the one from the router, & the XP FW, which I believe I deactivated. I did that by going into tmy network proterties, clickign the 3rd tab (at work, cant recall its name) & unchecking the box that turns the FW on/off. Am I missing something in this?? IOs there something else I need to do?

If this is at work, there is a possibility that the corporate firewall appliance is blocking everything except acceptable traffic (the way we do it) so the firewall folks would have to allow this.
