    Cannot connect to my server

Well heres the deal. I installed the server and ran the program.

Went through the Superadmin procedures and can see my server on the Server selection screen but cannot connect to the server.

When I go into Superadmin I can see that the server is up and running for 2 hours. I can see the server by using Server filters but cannot connect to it.

I'm wondering if I am missing a step or something.

I went through the post about setting up a Server but didn't seem to help.

    Please help.

LAN connection: ONLY use the LAN IP (=> no connections over webserver list as this uses the WAN IP)

WAN IP is ONLY for players not within your LAN !

    That did it

Ok one other question. Do I have to be in it for others to be able to get on??
Because my friend also tried to get in from over the internet and he was unable to connect as well. So can he get in now that there is an admin in?

If not then Im back to the same problem but for other people. lol

what your dealing with is most surely a port forwarding problem in your www access device (router/modem/...).
I assume you're using a broadband access which have usually a NAT access. With such an access no server iside oyur LAN can be reach from outside unless you forward the server port in your router to the LAN IP of your server machine.

So, there is no limitation that a user or even an admin must be online to allow WAN users to join your server (so you could leave your TS server on in the night and your friends can use it without your presence).

setting up the port forwarding isn't described here as this is very router/modem specific and we simply can't cover all the houndrets or thousands different models here => read your manual or ask in a real router forum for help if you can't set it up. The ports TS requires are mentioned in the FAQ (def. 8767 UDP !).

    Thanks Guldi still trying here.

Ok my brother can get on with the LAn address. I can get on with the Lan address.

I called Linksys and got the port opened. Protocol UDP. Wan access button Enabled.

Still people cannot get through my WAN address. Saying Server not responding.

Did you say there was something that needed to be done with my RCA Cable Modem as well?
Not sure I've ever even heard of getting into a cable modem hehheh. Would I call Comcast to get help with that side of it??

BTW Thank you for all your help. Guldi

You have a WLAN router and a cable modem ? How are they connected, what's your network setup (modem before WLAN, then a switch,...) ?

    I assume: www -> modem -> WLAN router -> switch - > PC's:
It depends on if the modem is accepting and sending EVERY traffic to the WLAN router or if this modem is doing NAT as well. If it does NAT as well, you have to forward the TS server port there as well.

You basically need to make sure, that when somone connects to your WAN IP on the TS server port, this traffic is forwarded to the TS server PC (no firewall blocking the traffic,...).

PS: I can't mind read and guess your network setup !
