    Wgt624

    I'm having the exact same problem as Spock7291.

    1. I have a linux server running teamspeak. It was accessible via LAN IP and WAN IP when I was using a Linksys BEFW11S4. The router died and I replaced it with a Netgear WGT624. I can connect using the LAN IP, but not the WAN IP. Other users also cannot connect with the WAN IP.

    2. I've read the FAQs and setup port forwarding. I've tried just port 8767 and a range of 8766-8768. Neither worked. I've also tried the aforementioned in combination with port triggering and it also didn't work.

    3. My router allows me to use the WAN IP to loopback into the network. I'm running SSH, FTP, and HTTP on the same server as teampseak. I can use the WAN IP to get to all of those without a problem. (Yes, I did setup port forwarding for each of those services too).

    4. I'm using the same IP address range I was using when I was using my linksys. My router's LAN IP is 192.168.1.1 and my servers static LAN IP is 192.168.1.101. My router received a dynamic WAN IP whenever it reconnects to the internet.

    5. I've tried placing the server in the DMZ and turning off the SPI filter on the router and neither helped.

    Any ideas would be helpful. May have to return this router for a linksys or d-link if I can't figure this out.

    Edit: Ventrilo also works with port forwarding to the same server. Looks like this problem is specific to teamspeak and the WGT624 router.

    Hmm Cant Get This At All

    So I got the server running on my machine. And when I log in with the client and search for servers on the web I can find mine in the listing and everything.

    Only thing is when I try to connect to it it says "Error" and says that the server might not be running TS or is offline.

    I am behind a router but I opened all the ports, and when the server appears in the world web listing it appears under the correct IP address. I just cant figure out how to connect to it at all.

    Please help me, this is frustrating the crap out of me.

    This is certainly a Netgear router problem. I unpluged my PC from it, used my old dial-up... vuala, everything worked. So I suposse now the problem is to manage to make the router work as it should, since its so easy to configure and I certainly have configure it right. I try contact a netgear network assistant and let you know if i make it!
    (PS.why did I even buy netgear at first place? I had it quarantee replaced 2 times in 8 months)

    Same prob

    Hey all

    I have the same problem with running a teamspeak server with my USR 9106 gateway. Ive read all Faq's and tried things out but it still doesnt work. I did all things like port forwarding (virtual server). I can connect using localhost, but not via my extern ip. It still doesn't work when i turn off my firewall (windows).
    The firewall-log shows that it doesnt recieve any incoming data from port 8767 (it does show outgoing data from port 8767 when i try 2 connect),
    so i think the problem is related to my gateway. I made a screenshot, so maybe you guys can say something about it.

    wireless routers

    Im a total NOOB when it comes to altering stuff on this thing. I have tried to do some of the stuff that has been said but I dont know if it applies to this wireless thingy!!! dont even know if its a router or a modem or both!!

    Im asuming its a router/modem cos each pc on our home net work now use it to connect to the net and to the LAN with it. So Iv followed the router in structions but Im not sure where to add this UDP number. I have found the add a port forwarding thingy. Also I dont know where to find the WAN ip so others can connect.

    BUT am I in the right place to start with. When we installed all the stuff for our router/modem thing it wasnt done on the pc I have put the TS server on. I conncet to the net with a wireless network addapter. Am I ok doing it from my pc and not the one that the router was 'installed' with? I can get to the router/modem settings from here. I was going to set up the TS server on one of the spare pc's on our home network... not sure about this at all now (my mate set one up for me and he did it in second but hes on the old modem and networking hub seem some times updating is a pain in the butt )

    Teamspeak is the problem

    The problem is NOT your router. Teamspeak is the problem. First let me assure you I am a network admin, I used routers all the time, and I totally understand how they work.

    Here is my situation. I have a TS server running in my office. My clan uses it to connect to for gaming, or chatting. Once I added my Dlink 524 router, teamspeak stopped working. I have already opened up all the ports. I even tried using DMZ (which opens EVERY port for that computer). Nothing.

    The weird thing is one day TS works fine. The next, I get no reply from server. It will stay dead for 2 days, then It starts working again. The obvious choice would be, router problem, however that is not the problem. I also have VNC and Netmeeting routed through the router and I NEVER have a problem connecting. I also have hosted many Unreal and TacOps games on this server, with no problem connecting. The ONLY application that has problems working through the router is Teamspeak.

    The plain truth is, Teamspeak will not work with a router sometimes and sometimes it will. I have yet to see any reason for it. I have tried monitoring incomming and outgoing traffic on this server, and with a connection sniffer I am able to see my teamspeak connection REACH the server, then it gets dropped. That means the connection is getting PAST the router, so how can the router be the problem???? It can't.

    Something is wrong with TEAMSPEAK itself.
    If anyone has any info I did not think of, please feel free to help, however I have done EVERYTHING that I can to get this running without any results.


    Actually I just noticed, that if i reboot my router, Teamspeak works again for awhile. Then stops again. The port shows that its open, and I have update to the latest firmware. I am thinking about backing the firmware off it and seeing if that helps.

    Also remember these things:

    1) If using Win XP SP2, enter the port 8767 as an exception in your windows firewall.
    2) Try having NO password on the server.

    Hey i need help aswell.....im using a billion 5100 4-port router
    I read alot of these forums and i have the same problem as everyone else, people cant connect to my Ts server cause of my router. i dont know how to make the router let ppl connect to my TS server...PLz help

    We love TeamSpeak

    We have a Win98 behind a Linksys NR041 router, static local IP. We forwarded port 8767 to the local TS servers IP.

    This is ALL that was necessary to set up on the router. We had the problem that so many are having, and about 1 out of 5 people had a problem connecting.

    Two main solutions emerged. First, we had anyone who had a problem, go to www.pandasoftware.com/activescan This pointed out the problem on half of those who had trouble connecting. They had a virus or spyware/iehacker.

    The others were directed to ftp://ftp.freenet.de/pub/4players/te....org/releases/
    to download ts2_client_rc2_2031.exe which is client version 2.0.32.55
    instead of 2.0.32.60

    Out of about 50 tries, only 1 remains a problem, and he has other problems with his Windows. He can connect, but cannot register. Hope this helps.

    Additional info - DMZ did not help. Also, one of the Win ME systems that had this problem was on the same LAN, and could not connect via internal or external IP, until we loaded the earlier TS Client. In no case, did superadmin manipulation of user, or deletion of user profile, improve connectivity. No firewall product was a factor, and the antivirus being used on the TS server was AVG (www.grisoft.com). The only other port forwarded by this router was 40000 TCP for WolfRat. No port RANGES were forwarded.

    Teamspeak is great. The manual is pretty good. And having the forums has been most helpful. We are impressed. tcscushing****.com
