.ini file created in root???
Hello,
When I start my TS2 server on my Win2K box, it creates the server.log, server.ini, and server.db files in the root of the hard drive instead of in the folder the .exe runs from (it is the default folder).
Is it supposed to do this? Thx.

Well, I seem to have fixed it. It seems the installer does not add the "Start In" directory to the shortcut it creates in the program group...
Anyone else see this?
I did not have it create a desktop icon during install if that helps diagnose.

I have a similar problem under Win98SE however the files are created in my windows directory.
My solution was the same as yours and it was frustrating until I figured out where the logfile was!
It would be nice if the developers would fix this.

if either of you had searched the forums you would have found this out and also noticed that it will be fixed in RC2 remember RC stands for release candidate. this means its an open public beta version of the software.

yep - woulda been nice if I would have done a search. guess i tried and did not find anything (late at night, yada, yada). i know exactly what an RC is - but thanks for the reminder... whether this is an RC or not is actually not relevant to the post. how about a reply to my other post on all the options and a manual? you seem to have a lot of knowledge on the product.
