BF1942 / TS2 loss of sound
I am at a loss to understand why (except of the fact that BF1942 has a long list on known issues with sound) but when i play bf1942 with TS2 running -- after about 5 mins i loose all sound EXCEPT for ingame music
win xp - soundblaster LIVE! with latest drivers
TS2 client and server with latest patches
i do have the client running behind Tribes 2 no probs -- and run the clan TS2 server on a separate machine at home.
anyone else run across this and have a fix???

If you do not need fancy stuff from your Soundcard like DolbyDigital , surround and stuff you might as well try the kxproject drivers. They worked well on my machine

A solution
I experienced the same loss of sound in 1942. I have:
WinXP w/SP1
Athlon 1.7Ghz
SBlive! Value
A little help was gained by using Direct Sound rather than Wave but the big fix for 100% audio operation came with enabling 'Hardware Acceleration' for Sound in BattleField 1942. No more problems related to all audio cutting out.
I was using GSM 14.8kbit on a DSL connection which sounds great.
Hope this helps ya!
