Input mutet, can't disable it...
Hey there.
I've got a problem with the linux client. It starts fine, but I cannot speak to my mates. I can hear them, but I cannot speak.
my input is mutet and I can't disable it in the menu.
Specs:
OS: Debian/unstable
Soundcard: Terratec DMX X-Fire 1024
Driver: cs46xx kernel modul.
I tried to compile alsa from cvs but then I even don't get sound. It says it finds no valid device...
Oh, my mic is ok. After loading the sound modules I can hear me speaking in the mic.
hope someone can help me...

hey there.
I just compiles alsa 0.9 from cvs and installed it. Sound Output works great, but input is still broken. At least my input is not muted but there is only crap comming out at my mate's side... the quality is really worse so that noone can understand me...
I did like you said, activated the three devices (mic, Capture and adc) for record but quality is really awful. But at least something gets transmitted
Maybe you can send me your mixer setting, so that I can controle mine...
Also it would be helpful if you can write what's in your modules.conf.

I think it's a problem with the card. The Linux support of this card is not really good. I just bought a Soundblaster Live! and it worked perfectly out of the box... (and even the output sounds A LOT better).
creative support the development of open source drivers for their soundblaster productus. Terratec doesn't. So just don't buy Terratec products!
