Cleartext passwords?
Cleartext passwords in the database? Come on guys, it's a no-brainer to call even crypt() or any other one-way-hash function so that a server admin doesn't have access to every password on the system.

Is this a consideration or has it been tossed aside? I would really like to see this implemented in a future version, especially now that all that info can now be stored in MySQL (which is a feature I really dig, btw).

the funny is all say how easy it is to crypt the db etc bla...
but nobody of this guys is able to take the time to do it ....
for what else all the sql files are external ?
but to answer one of the questions here:
with ts3 , there will be no "cleartext" passwords anymore.
not in the protocol, not in the database, not in logfiles....

thank you for the help on how to encrypt it. For some odd reason, my searches on "encrypt", "password" & "clear text" didn't bring up that post or I wouldn't have posted my comment.
It appears to still be a valid concern with the current version of TeamSpeak out of the box, for those that are so quick to point the noob finger...Last edited by craveytrain; 15-06-2004 at 17:38.
