Echo problems on front mic port only.
Before I get tagged, yes, I've been through the FAQ and have attempted to fix my echo problems using both methods. It's certainly not speaker feedback, and I'm nearly certain it's not due to "What you hear" type of settings.
I have a set of front audio jacks that I connect to my onboard sound (Asus K8V SE Deluxe, SoundMAX chip). When the mic is attached to the mic port on the back, there are 0 problems. If I want to use the front mic, I have to go into advanced options under the mic setting in "recording" and check a box to use the front port. Once the mic is hooked up, I get the echo. This echo, however, only seems to appear in TS. For example, I can record myself with Windows sound recorder and it sounds clear as day. I play DoD (Half Life) mod that has a built in Teamspeak of sorts and I don't get any reports of echoing there either.
Any ideas why TS would be having problems? Any suggestions on how I might fix it?
TIA!

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking - It seems, when looking in options, that I can choose either Direct Sound or Wave. Are you asking if I get the echo after switching off of the default setting (Direct Sound) to Wave?

Yes - the echo is present regardless of which setting I choose. I've tried just about all variations of the options and none seem to work.
I've tried:
- switching between Wave and Direct
- Forcing 8 bit compatibility
- Disabling Direct Input
I can't find another application where I get the echo. I can post a .wav of my test if you'd like (recorded through Windows Recorder).

Sounds like a problem with the sound drivers, what sound card are you using, and have you updated to the latest version?
