Hello,
brand spanking new to TS. I am the admin for my server so here goes the question.

I set up teamspeak, I gave my channel a password, I gave anyone that logs in self admin privledges (after I get this up and running Ill remove the self admin privledges)

that is about all I set

I am using the newest version of TS Server
I am running Win XP service pack 1 (2 just came out and im too lazy to update)
I am using a Linksys router with a Netgear wireless as primary router (I have a lot of computer)
I turn on my computer, I turn on the server. I wait about 5 min and log into my server with TS

I am ok logging into it from the same computer. I can log in with another computer, and I have someone from another location log in.

About a min later we all get booted off.

I have the server set as a public server called Heroes inc with a password.

I have forwarded the port 8767

I am in a Guild on City of Heroes and we are using someone elses server

here is the question

1. the sound is bad
2. we all get disconnected after about a min.

Am I missing a setting?

just added..not sure if this makes a difference but I forwarded the port only on the netgear and not on the linksys but I think the primary one syncs up with the the secondary?

for the sound problem, change the codec

ok when I go into the Server Admin I have everything (all codec) Checked...is that what you mean or do I click on my servername

I know the problem you are having I'm having it to although not after only a few minutes.

I've run a TS server for months now and other than the occassional crash it's been fine, then recently all I've had is hassle. The ts boots everyone at the same time but not either of my own computers just everyone else. I've checked everything and the only thing I've been able to fine is that the server log says unable to detect external IP but I can do everything else online as normal.

I have no idea why the TS suddenly decides it can't find the IP I'm not on a router or anything but if other people are getting this could it be some sort of bug?

I guess we have to wait til someone works it out but your not alone

This could be alot of things did you check
to see if you are losing packets from your router to your modem or to the internet?
OR maybe the most likely choice your cable company is doing upgrades at that time you will not lose connection to the internet but if you are hosting something like a TS server everyone but yourself will be booted (if you login through you LAN IP) if you are looged in on your WAN IP you will be booted also This happeneds to me sometimes as i have checked my cable company record of upgrades times and such

Try setting both of the routers ports forwarded
also with alot of Linksys routers you have to have the clients set logging option to debug

to do this go to setting <options <other at the bottom of the screen you have to check the box that says Debug
Then the most important step of all RESTART TeamSpeak or the setting will not take effect


as to the sound situation Right click on the channel you are in and click the edit channel button set the channel Codec to something higher than what it is most normaly the speex 16.3 codec is a fair codec to use unless you get alot of people all talking at the same time

ok I tried to connect to Linksys. No luck.

so I went to Netgear and changed the port triggering from 8767-8767 to 8767-8768 I was on with TS and all my friend for over 2 hours.

Alas when I logged out of Teamspeak it drops everyone?

and I have to do 1 of the following

1. Refresh my IP address
2. turn off the computer and relog into Teamspeak Server.

I tested it 3 ways.

1. I logged out and waited 1 min it worked I can get back in.

2. I logged out and went to another TS server (a friends) and it dumped them out everytime.

3. I attempted to log in with a username and password and use the wrong password 1/2 the time dumped everyone out.


It is definitely on my side and not theirs.

On the computer that uses TS server I started up TS and made a username Admin. and left it on in hopes that keeps it up. but I doubt it.

BTW the sound quality is great THANKS.

seems to be working. I had to reboot it this morning at 10:00 but it is still up and running 12 hours later. I guess having me have a person on TS all the time might have fixed it.

My nephew shutdown my computer and Now I only have my personal IP address I keep clicking update IP no luck

any idea's

last night same nephew logged into a different ts and it knocked my server off. about 2 hours later after rebooting a bunch of times it came back up but he turned off my computer last night and I can not get on we are up to now 4 hours.
