Friends can't connect
I know this is the subject of several other threads in this area, but I'm a little slow on the computer jargon about opening ports and such. So here goes.
I am on a school network. I have downloaded the server software and it lists two IPs -- one specific to my computer and one that I assumed people could connect to.
I can connect through the client software to the IP address for my computer -- which seems obvious enough. But, no one can connect to my server.
My hunch is it has something to do with port forwarding, the whole Port 8767 deal. I don't know how to do that, and while I'm sure it exists somewhere in an FAQ or something, it'd be greatly appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction.
So, to summarize:
I have the server software downloaded. Two different IP addresses. The IP that is not my computer's specific one appears on the universal server list, yet none of my friends can connect to it. What can I do to get the server running so everyone can connect to it?
Oh, and my XP firewalls are down, so that isn't the issue (I don't think, anyway -- I checked and the box talking about the XP firewall on my LAN connection isn't clicked on, so I assume that means the firewall is down).
Thanks in advance for your help!

1) port forwarding is not described as this is VERY specific to the access device your using. Since there are sooooo many, we don't even try to discribe them here, this would be a never ending task and doesn't belongs in this forum !
2) Are you trying to use the server within the school network ?
If so, you'll be probably out of luck:
- The port forwarding has to be setup in the access device of the LAN to the WAN. I highly doubt the school admins will let you configure this device
- Sometimes it's not allowed to setup servers within school networks. MAke sure your admins knwo about your plans
If you use the TS Server at home, check your routers / access device manual for "virtual server" or "port forwarding"
