help change default port

I have searched through all of these forums. All data amounts to nothing, so I will post my findings and hopefully find the proper answer.

What I want to do:

Change the port that the server accepts connections on. Currently it is 8767.

Things I have tried:

-under superadmin edit the line "Server UDP Port" from its default of '8767' in the web administration interface to a port of my choosing. I hit 'save' and get this reply in a web page:

"if you want to edit udpport, please stop first the server
CONTINUE"

So I go to stop the server, but of course the web admin no longer functions. So I try to manually add this line to the server.ini file...

ServerUDPPort=<port of my choosing>

I then start the TSRC2 server back up ./teamspeak* start

Then I go back to the web interface and it is still a default port of 8767. Also my Teamspeak client connects on port 8767 after I have made the changes.



It seems like a neverending loop of getting nowhere. All of the information in these forums on this topic are absolute junk. Sure I have tried them all, but none of them work.

Can all of us people get a real answer? Maybe we can get a sticky on "Changing default port" as alot of people have requested help and got none. I probably probed through about 15+ threads on the same topic, all leading to nothing.

Don't stop the TS process
In the WebAdmin on the Server Selection screen, click the Stop button to stop a TS server, process keeps running, then change UDP port
