cant write to c:\\server.ini
I installed server started it closed it down. Read log file to get password and restarted it from desktop.
3 new files on my desktop (including new log file) and cant log in as admin. Read FAQ and dont use desktop icon, start from programs etc. Get error Cant write to c:\\server.ini and that purpley colour box appears on desktop.
Uninstall and reinstall. Start server leave running and read log file to get password. Log on as admin get it working (works great by the way) and play a game or two. Shut down server. Restart server
CANT WRITE TO C:\\server.ini etc...

TS2 RC1's server installation creates bad shorcuts. By bad I mean that the shortcuts working directory is set incorrectly.
To get it working I suggest you delete all of the old shortcuts made by the installation program and make your own(you can adjust the working directory of the current shortcuts or just run the program from its own directory if thats easier for you).
Then try running it again. If it still dosnt work then you might have to do what i had to and delete these three files from your TS2 directory.
server.ini
server.db
server.txt
Then start the server and a new password will be generated.

Older PC's...
Some older PC's like mine wil have problems with new created short cuts too.
the best thing to do then is to start your server from the teamspeak directory. A shortcut of the TS dir can be placed on your desktop... A little more work before starting but it works for sure.
The problem whitch occured on your server, is that the server is started fromout the desktop, whitch is a directory of course and the server.exe cant find a server.ini and a database etc. So it is thinking that it has his first session! (in the teamspeakfolder is also no server.ini or a database in the beginning)
In the first session TS wil create a server.ini and a database for TS applications in the near future and wil place those newly created files in the same directory as were TS started from. In your case on the desktop (C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Desktop)
thats why you could see the server.ini , server.db and server.txt created on your desktop.
Same thing might happen if you start TS2-server from your start menu, only I don't know where those .ini,.txt and .db files are placed...
Good luck!
