    Allow server to force Guest's Nickname or at least not allow URL

    We have a spammer on our Teamspeak server.

    Our default channel is the only channel that we allow guests to join.
    Our guests also are not allowed to send text to anyone except to people in the default channel.

    However what this spammer is doing is joining with a URL in his Nickname and thus we see:

    [09:39:55] www.goteamspeak.com quit

    What I'm asking is to allow a setting on the server to disallow URLs in nicknames or force unregistered users to "Guest" everytime.

    Thanks.

    You can block specific nicknames with the badnames file, however it doesn't support regexp (not even wildcards) so you'd have to specify each URL individually. Also the file is only read when the server starts AFAIK so after adding new entries to badnames you need to restart the server for the changes to take effect (and with restart the server I mean the whole server process).

    Forcing unregistered people to a specific nickname is not possible at this time.

    in the server.ini file disAllowed client names car line add a "." so it looks like this if there is no "." allowed no one can join with any thing that can make a url or e-mail address no . no .com's
    DisAllowedClientNameChars=()[]{}.

    then restart your server for new .ini to load
