Could you reformulate this so it's understandable ?

Miles sound system initialization failure
My system includes MicroSoft XP Home Edition, Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.80 GHz, 2.79 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM, Radeon 9800 Pro and I believe my Sound Card is Multimedia Audio Controller, although I confess I may be incorrect in this regard. I recently had my hard drive formatted and am in the process of reinstalling all software.
I reinstalled both Call of Duty and Call of Duty (United Offensive), both of which worked well before. I now get the following error message and neither game will run:
------- Miles sound system initialization -------
Attempting 44 kHz 16 bit stereo sound
couldn't initialize 2D provider: waveOutOpen() failed.
Miles sound system initialization failed
WARNING: loaded sound file 'sound/misc/mouse_click.wav' couldn't be read
WARNING: loaded sound file 'sound/misc/mouse_over.wav' couldn't be read

...wglMakeCurrent( NULL, NULL ): success
...deleting GL context: success
...releasing DC: success
...destroying window
...resetting display
...shutting down QGL
...unloading OpenGL DLL
-----------------------
Hunk_Clear: reset the hunk ok
2 sound file(s) are missing or in a bad
I have no idea what this is about. I have uninstalled/reinstalled both games twice with no success.
Any assisatnce would be appreciated.

@guldi Well I guess because it is when TS is running.
However this is NOT a TS Problem but a well known error called PK3 Corruption.

Miles sound system initialization
Gentlemen:
My thanks to both you and guildi for your assistance. Rightly or wrongly, your forum displays first on a search of "Miles sound system initialization", and frankly was one of the few that even discussed this.
Thanks again.
