Same Trouble
Hi
I too have same problem, have downloaded client twice and reinstalled numerous times. I know it is not a firewall issue as I have a win 98 machine connected to the same router and it works fine. I am using AMD 64 Athlon with Win XP Version 5.1 Build 2600.xpsp2.040919 : Service Pack 1... Is that any help? What should I try next?
Thanks

No that did not work, the windows 98 machine is running the exact same version and it is fine. When I try and connect to a specific server I get the red message saying "Got a bad responce from the server" using quick connect. If I try and get a list of servers using just connect, the web server list is blank, and when I try and update the list it says "error getting list".
does this help any more?

PS I just installed it on another machine and I noticed that the difference is that the machine that worked installed codecs, the machine that does not work would not intall any codecs, how do I make it install codecs?

Sounds like an evil firewall. Software firewall to be more precise. Do you have Norton Internet Security or anything along those lines? If your positive you have no software firewall bundled with a virus scanner, try putting yourself as DMZ host through your router (this is dangerous as you will not have a firewall)
