TS2PerlMod GNU/GPL-Edition

Guten Tag.
Folgendes Problem bei TS2 Perlmod für Linux Server:

Berechtigungen für die entsprechende Dateien sind geändert.
Per PuTTy melde ich mich auf dem Server an und wechsel in das
entsprechende Verzeichnis.
Mit "./ts2perlmod_startscript start" möchte ich perlmod ausführen,
doch nach "[ok] Using configuration file default.ini" macht er nichts mehr.
Keine Log Datei nichts.

Würde über ne Lösung mich freuen

Where can I find more information on this? For those that dont know I am re-writing a couple of GPL PHP applications. So I have some questions.

When I release an improvement to a application how do I know what version number to use? Do I have to use a version number? Can I just change the name?

When selling opensource what are the rules? Say I chage and repackage the application and want to sell it. What are the controlling factors. How does Red Hat and Suse do it when they repackage Linux?

How do I write my license? I there a specific format or a template available?
