Some clients get connected others connect and immediately timeout
Does anyone else experience this problem?
I get most WAN and LAN clients to connect no problem, two other WAN clients get connected (i.e. they get my welcome message), but almost immediately timeout. I'm fairly sure there is a logging mechanism in the server somewhere that might help I just can't seem to find a reference to it in the documentation anywhere. Also, all clients are connecting to me anonymously if thats of any importance and they are not behind any personal firewalls.
So, basically, is there a log somewhere that I can setup to see if these people are actually getting connected to my server? I'm thinking this might be an issue with these client's ISPs. Would a traceroute from an individual client help?Last edited by therealmaximus; 24-06-2005 at 19:59. Reason: Bad title

ok, I found the log and set it to trace both registered and anon users. here is what I get (doesn't seem very helpful). this person is not behind a firewall and is using WIN2K Pro.
25-06-05 00:08:24,ALL,Info,AccessLog, SID: 1 client connected [IP: 67.181.xxx.xxx, Nick: l0ngshad0w, Version: 2.0.32.60]
25-06-05 00:08:26,ALL,Info,AccessLog, SID: 1 client disconnected. [Nick: l0ngshad0w]
25-06-05 00:08:54,ALL,Info,AccessLog, SID: 1 client connected [IP: 67.181.xxx.xxx, Nick: Guest1, Version: 2.0.32.60]
25-06-05 00:08:56,ALL,Info,AccessLog, SID: 1 client disconnected. [Nick: Guest1]
this person has their client in debug too, but they tell me they get no log either

Resolved
ok, not sure this is really resolved but after much playing around with server settings etc with no luck I finally got these people to connect. All I did was rename the default channel (in my client as SA) and had each client that had a problem connecting make sure they entered nickname with other connection info.
thanks again Teamspeak team for a cool product!!!!!

Well, before these specific clients were not entering a nickname and checking the server assigned checkbox. I have no imperical evidence to support that by entering their nickname/default channel it resolved the issue and wasn't a result of an unstable connection. It could very be that these 2 clients had unstable connections before and now they don't, just seems highly unlikely.
I just though I would say this was resolved because I didn't want anyone to waste their time following up because the problem "seems" to be resolved.
Thanks again for the reply guildi and the cool product!
