Unhappy [CS] Fps drops when using TS2

Before i begin, i already used the search before posting this msg. I also searched extensively on the www, trying to find a reasonable answer 4 my problem....

alright, let's get it on then,

When I play cs, i try to play it with the least programs running in the background. So when im playing on a public, next to cs, mirc is running & also the all seeing eye. In this situation i get a constant 100fps (via net_grpah command in console). I play according to the following settings:

    -opengl
    -640x480
    -anisotropic 8x
    -FSAA 4x

My fps only drops to 99.x fps, but no lower than that. Now the problem...

Since I'm in clan, voice communication is essential during clanwars. We decided 2 use ts2 for it's good quality & low latency. But when I start TS2 next to cs, my fps starts dropping. My pc also doesn't reaches the magical 100fps anymore...

Result: the game doesn't play like, when I'm in "100fps mode". Therefore i suck when ts2 is enabled...

My question is simple: how to fix this annoying problem?

    Thx in advance!,

My friend has the same problem but then with Ghost Recon.
I'm not a techy here but I think it has to do something with your processor-speed, since framedrops is a local problem and not something that goes over the networkconnection.

    Any tech-freaks got an answer?

I fixed the problem (sort of). I made a backup off winxp, be4 I went any further. This is what I did.

I grabbed my win2k pro install cd, booted from those 4 disks (omg that takes long ). Then i chose 2 format my c:\ en installed win2k, updated my ass off (windows updates), installed halflife + cs en ts2.

    I tested.....

    I conquered!

It all works perfectly, I guess this cleary is a WinXP problem....

    anywayz, Im happy again

    OK thanks...
Strange that this is only an XP problem.
I think it's a bit over the top to completely re-install another OS for just such a small problem tho.
I guess there has to be a smarter solution then that?

i heard from a clanm8 that he's using winxp home edition and he has no problem running cs + ts2 @ 100fps. So it seems like it's an WinXP pro problem so far...

At least i can play the old way again

    hmmm I have a question:

did you try to use the compatability mode???
read http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/show...&threadid=1037 ..., where woutur explains how to do that...

(it's just a suggestion to try that before installing another os )

the thing is: I did not have choppy sounds, I used the high priority workaround 4 that. That worked fine, I think the compatibility mode wouldn't work 4 me, but that's just a wild guess
