players getting randomly dc'd
I'm having a problem with my setup. I only have 1 server running, and for some reason people are getting randly kicked from the server. They are telling me they either time out, or just that their connection to the server has been terminated. It happens to anybody. Sometimes everyone gets dropped and you can't connect for a little bit.
I'm getting pretty frustrated cause its a new dedicated server I have and this is just one of a couple other things I need to figure out.
What more info can I give for help?

That is caused by unstable Inet connections.
The 32.60 client is sensitive on timeouts....
Try an older versions of TS client, those versions are less sensitive.
Or check your Inet conection (packetloss, signal/noise ratio, ping tests etc.)Last edited by Timeless; 31-08-2005 at 14:58.

So, is this a server problem at all or just user internet/client program problems. Where do you get older clients?
One reason of many I prefer TS is that there aren't or haven't been problems with clients where as with ventrillo there seem to be like 3 or 4 different versions and the clients only work with each server version etc. That's annoying.

Did you tested the debug mode recommended in the FAQ ?
Using an older TS version would be the solution I'd try afterwards. If that still doesn't work and all user get that problem, you have to look at your dedicated server again, could be that the conenction to that server isn't very stable ?

I remember the same problem with one of the servers I connected to the last weeks.
There´s been some trouble about the network connection of the root server TS has been installed on.
There are seroius timeouts to almost every user, so the client has not been the causer in this case.
