    Server stops responding

    I'm running a TS2 server on a Windows Server 2003 box. i've been running it just fine for months. about 2 weeks ago i did an upgrade which required a full reinstallation (replaced mobo, processor, ram & now has dual sata's with raid 1). since that time i have been having problems with my TS2 server.

    I have a utility that runs it as a service so i dont need to 'login' since its my server box. this works just fine and starts the service once the computer boots up. for anywhere between 16 and 36hrs i can connect just fine. nobody has any problems (either on my network or from the outside world). Then it boots everyone and stops allowing connections. I've done everything i can think of, and i've also stopped running it as a service and simply running it as an executable and to no avail.

    to fix the problem all i need to do is kill it and restart it and it allows connections again. while this fix is ok as a temp fix i would like to know what the heck is going on so i can fix it permanently.

    as a side note it doesnt die on its own, it simply stops accepting connections. i have to physically kill the process and restart in order to fix it.

    at this point in time the server is still running fine. i'll check the log once it stops responding again and see if there are any changes

    Edit. Maybe you have Problems with your Network, Router ,Firewall etc. Or your ISP make problems with Teamspeak.

    its not a problem with the network/router/firewall/etc. that wouldnt make any sense. i run a fileserver/web-app-server/webserver from the same machine and that all works 100% of the time. also if it was a network problem and it happened because the network got dropped or something for a second, when the network came back online it should start accepting connections again... it doesnt, it dies permanently.

    you should be able to run a teamspeak server on a machine thats not even connected to a network, its just a server that listens. only an active client connection requires that you be connected to a network.

    if it doesnt work that way then there's a huge bug in TS.

    as far as your 'message' about the search function being really great... thats fine and i saw that post before, but it has nothing to do with my problem. my connection works great 99% of the time. it only has a problem after TS has been running for a while which has nothing to do with the mentioned post.

    Xeroed,

    How many servers are you currently running on this instance? Are you currently using the default control panel? How many users access the control panel on a daily basis?

    We've noticed issues where the TS software simply stops responding after a specific amount of time. We finally nailed this down to a memory issue.

    only 1 instance. some days there might be 20 users, other days there might be none. it depends really. since its been so unreliable as of late and shutting off all the time its really been only a maximum of say 5 users. it seems that it stops accepting connections quicker the more people are on at a time so you might be on to something here. a memory leak of some kind?

    by the way in case anyone who is reading this wonders... it stops accepting local connections as well as outside connections (that is connections from the local network even the same machine, or connections from the intarweb)

    I did some checking and it apperas to be that TS must be attempting to make an outgoing connection sometimes. for whatever reason my network has a problem with this once and a while and doesnt let it go through. this is when TS shuts down basically.

    NOTE: this is at a time when NOBODY is connected to the server.

    What is TS making an outbound connection for, and is there any way i can stop it?
