CPU Usage problem?

I'm running the latest Teamspeak linux server on a PII-400 w/512 MB of (pc133) ram on a DSL 1500/256 connection.

When more than two people speak at the same time the audio gets "jumpy", the audio "hiccups" between users.

If one user speaks by himself it's ok.

I have a friend who has a server with a faster cpu and this doesn't seem to be a problem.

Is what i'm expierencing a "problem" or just a result of the slower CPU?

I really can't imagine that this should be a problem of the CPU.

Hrmm....well...the machine has a really crappy sound card in it (because it's a server). Does that have any affect on the linux_server running?

Nope, because the server does not use any soundcard.
Also, your bandwidth and cpu should be enough for a server.
It might be a little slow if you want to run a game, a ts server and ts client on that machine tough. (i dont know if you are doing that)

Thanks for the quick replys guys...

That's what confuses me....the ONLY thing running on that box is your typical linux background stuff (apache, qmail, etc.) and xvncserver and ts....I'm going to try a few other things to try to isolate the problem, if i can find anything repeatable i'll let you guys know!
