News: Pimped Server Banners
Many of you have seen this already i think but i want this also to be said in the TeamSpeak.com forums here. The Server Banners (Dynamic Signatures) has been overhauled. You should check out their new and fresh style. Now anti aliased fonts are being used. Better colors and finer gradients. Look yourself at the examples below.
Cause of technical advances they are now also available for every TSViewer.com servers category. Anyway, feel free to use them everywhere you want; for example as forums signature, server informations image, tsviewer alternative on your site or anything else you can imagine.

News: Vertical Server Banners
Because of the nightly pizza delivery service and approximately 5kg additional fat on my hips I have great news for you! I received countless Viagra… erm sorry… wish mails in the past month. E.g. Dennis Keulen wrote "Please please give us a vertical banner for my portal site".
...DRUM ROLLS... here they are! All Server Banners are so far oriented horizontally. Mainly used as forums signatures but also on your websites. At the vertical this turns over now! This one is intended primary for your websites to be integrated left or right at a portal. It would disqualify itself when it comes to being used as a forums signature because of its size of 160x283 pixels. Iam lookin forward to get feedback from you to see how the new banner will work on your sites. Check it out (attached to this post) or here: http://www.tsviewer.com/index.php?page=dynamic_sigs

Nice work ginger, but how about some more "global" statistics?
Fore example: A statistic which shows how many servers got the newest TeamSpeak 2 Server version.
Sample MySQL Query:
Code:SELECT count(version), version FROM servers GROUP BY version

Maybe you could ad a new tab to this page called "Administrate Server" (Yeah, I know, that was your idea, once).
The guy which'd likes to administrate the server, must know the password of the entry (The password which is needed to update the server) and a vaild admin account (Which data has to be entered every time).

Ahhh yeah with Javascript right mouse menu replacement. I would just ask for the TeamSpeak account password but thats a better idea to ask for both passwords.
But that whole thing would be very hard to programm i think would it be not? I dont know if have enough PHP experience for that hmmmm.

I have changed many things and added new features to TSViewer.com in the past but missed to inform about that changes. Its time for a big news to clean up with that. Some things are from the last days and some are older. Enjoy!
1. Server Banners: Added 120 x 283 px (vertical)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
That new banner is exactly like his big brother but shrinked to 120 pixels width to fit into smaller areas on an site. Font size and details are the same. Check out the examples bellow (attached to this post) or HERE.
2. Server Banners: Added Activity Graph to Vertical Banners
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have added to them yesterday a graph that shows servers usage from the last 24 hours. The graph has time on x-axis and user-count/usage on the y-axis. It works like the normal Server Activity Graph. The other change/addition is a small sweet bar to display actual slots usage. Unfortunately i had to remove "Users Online Today" because of space problems but i think that was minor important at that banners. Check them out below (attached) or HERE.
3. Server Banners: Added new and optimizied existing motifs
---------------------------------------------------------------------
- NEW: Hellgate London
- OPT: Halo
- OPT: Armed Assault
- NEW: Call of Duty 4
- NEW: Crysis
- NEW: ET Quake Wars
- NEW: F.E.A.R.
- NEW: Ghost Recon
- NEW: Grand Theft Auto
- OPT: Guildwars
- OPT: Lineage
- NEW: Team Fortress 2
- OPT: World of Warcraft
- NEW: City of Heroes / Villains
- NEW: Command & Conquer
- OPT: Farcry
- OPT: Tactical Ops
4. User History: Now with history data for 7 days
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Man can look now seven days into the past. Before that change it were only three days. The User History displays Nickname, Loginname, Logintime, Idletime and Date from every user that connected to an TeamSpeak server and stayed a few minutes on it. Man can browse through it and sort by Nickname, Channel or Date. The User History is realized through the TSViewer.com Scanner. The Scanner scans all registered TeamSpeak servers all day long in 5-10 minutes intervals. It collects data to realize the User Search, Server Activity Graphs, Server Banners and of course User History.
HERE is for example the User History for PlanetTeamSpeak.com TeamSpeak server.
5. TSViewer.com Scanner: Fixed a bug with DNS
---------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a bug that occurred if people have used dynamic DNS services like dyndns.org with servers that dont had an static IP. My scanner resolved only once in 24 hours the IP address from a DNS. So when in the meantime the IP changed and my scanner still used the old IP it reported the server as offline. Now the scanner resolves the IP hourly. So at worst case scenario an server will be reported as offline only for one hour when an service like dyndns is in use with a non-static IP.
6. TSViewer Live Monitor: Password Status and Traffic Information
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The password status was database driven, it depended on user input. Now it is queried live from the TeamSpeak server. So when it says now "Server password protected" then the server really is. It was stupid when that data was not correct. Sorry, i should had made this change earlier. The TSViewer Live Monitor displays now also Traffic Informations from an TeamSpeak server like incoming bandwith, outgoing bandwith, total bandwith and more. Very special but its also there if you want to see it.
Available from every TSViewer Live Monitor like this HERE.
7. TSViewer Live Monitor: Server Version now hidden
---------------------------------------------------------------------
To protect against hackers the server version is now hidden by default. That should make it more difficult to find victims over TSViewer.com with old vulnerable server versions. If you want to display it again then go to "UPDATE" and set it to "Show Version".
8. Server Categories/Lists: New filter "Sub Category"
---------------------------------------------------------------------
At my last newsletter i asked to announce Sub Category if people were in special collective categories. I got a few hundreds replies and inserted this data. You can filter the lists with it now. Its useable at collective categories like MMORPG where many games come together, same thing at Browsergames, Flight Simulation, Racing, Command & Conquer, Star Wars Series, etc, etc, etc.
9. Server Categories/Lists: Added eight new categories
---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Lord of the Rings Online
- Insurgency
- Call of Duty 4 (bereits 414 Server, Danke!)
- Crysis
- Hellgate London
- Grand Theft Auto
- Team Fortress 2
- Habbo Hotel
10. TSViewer.com Portal: WC3 Vailidation, CSS, Site Rendering, ZIP Compression
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have made most pages at TSViewer.com WC3 valid (XHTML 1.0 Transitional). That makes the site rendering faster. I have also rebuilt the portal in CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) instead of tables. That save traffic and makes site rendering faster. I want to rebuilt other areas at TSViewer.com also in CSS but that is not high priority on my ToDo-list. ZIP compression is now also enabled at my webserver. That makes the server to sent most data compressed. The browser decompress that data then and displays it as usually. So you have less data to receive, that results also in faster site rendering.
The developement on TSViewer.com still continues, slowly but surely. Hope you like the changes and additions. Especially the vertical Server Banners changes.

TSViewer.com needs your HELP
Please VOTE for TSViewer.com at GIGA Homepage Award 2007 finale.
http://www.giga.de/aktionen/homepageaward/vote/esports/
The site with most points will win it. You can vote every 2 hours. Please vote 5 points for TSViewer.com as often as you can.
TSViewer was successful at the third round (in June 2007) in the eSports & Clans category and has been placed through that triumph into the voting finals. This voting finals are now and go on from 21. December till 04. January 2008. The winners will be promoted at GIGA Gaming Television and get really cool prices. GIGA is a gaming television and is very popular here in Germany so this award is of course important for me.
There are many good sites people can vote for so this finale is be really hard.
Five points = HIGH
One Point = LOW
There are drop-down menus to choose the points from. 'Punkte' means 'Points'.
At the bottom you have to enter an letters code. This is to avoid cheating.
With your help TSViewer could make it. Please help and vote for TSViewer.com :-)
Thanks!

TSViewer.com NEWS
Older but missing here:
End of January 2008 I travelled to Cologne to be at the GIGA eSports studios (german gaming television) and talked about todays available voicetools with the moderator Michael: TeamSpeak 2, Mumble, Shockvoice and Ventrilo.
On the phone there was Peter Krik from TeamSpeak Systems. He told some things to us about TeamSpeak 3.
At our friends from PlanetTeamSpeak.com you can download the voicetools part of the show. So stop by and watch the video (its in german). And by the way PlanetTeamSpeak.com do offer very interesting content related to TeamSpeak. If you dont know this site you have missed something. :-)

TSViewer.com NEWS
TSViewer.com presents after lasting several weeks hard work a new feature; the User TeamSpeak Status Banners.
Dreadful name, there passes no doubt, nevertheless, the possibilities are interesting. Roughly said they do display on which TS server you are currently online with information of server name, channel name, login- and idletime. Should you have gone offline, then this is being displayed in the banner with information of the last server and time of the last contact. Two examples are attached below this message as images.
In addition, i have programmed for the banners a special feature which should be put as link target for them. So if somebody clicks on the banner, you get localised once more and the visitor is being rerouted to the correct TeamSpeak server monitor on TSViewer.com where he can see you live with all other server data. If you have gone offline it does route to the User History of the last TS server you were on. Without this special localisation you would have to link the banner with a static link, for example, with a certain server. But if you hang around on several servers this static link would be more or less useless. Example.
After the redirect there is a box above the TeamSpeak monitor or the User History that explains everything once more (e.g., user is offline, last seen on server xyz at this and this date and time, etc.). This is because otherwise the visitor could wonder about "Where am I, what is this here, where do I find the person i search for?" (Example attached below as image).
The users banner can be generated of course quite simply without any registration. Enter the exact name and go for it. Capitalisation and use of small letters must be considered, it is case-sensitive. Ginger is not equal to ginger, ginGer, gIngeR, GingeR, etc., etc. So take care when writing the name into the field. If this name is used now on all servers and these servers are also registered the banner will always display your current location with all data. The before appealed linking of the banner localises and reroutes the visitor immediately to the correct server. This happens so fast, you will not even notice it.
If you are using a name that is probably used by many people at the same time on several servers, as for example "Peter", you need to modify either this name (make it unique, e.g., by capitalisation and use of small letters and/or special characters) or you need to enable the limitation i have programmed specially for this problem. This limitation causes that the system do search only on a certain TS server, e.g., only on server registration 22068 (Planet-TeamSpeak.com server). Unfortunately, with this limitation you will deactivate at the same time a big feature of the banner (localisation), but if you are always only on the same server then this does not play any role longer.
If I would query an TeamSpeak server by every call of a banner live, my servers and the servers of the Hosters would have a lot new work to do and it would need much more traffic. It is not possible at the moment for me to rent new root servers or to pay for more traffic. So the information used in the banners comes all from the database. The database is fed by the global scan; he runs around-the-clock and needs about 5-10 minutes to scan all registered servers. The banners are cached (interstored) for 3 minutes, that means in the worst case the informations displayed in the banner are approx. 13 minutes old. I have attached below a graphical example how this works.
At the moment there is only one variation available; only one layout and a certain size. This is the first version without any other configuration possibilities. Should the User Banners get used by many people I will invest again time and build other layouts and sizes. For the more distant future I have planned to make the User Banners and the Servers Banners very very configureable. For example, to change all colours or to use own images. However, before that there are many other interesting things still on queue for TSViewer.com.
Puuuh I had to tell again a lot, many thanks already to everybody which have given to themselves the trouble to read up to the end. I hope that everybody will use the banners actively, for example, as forums signatures or member status banners on homepages.
I would be glad about ideas and criticism. Are the banners too small? Too largely? Unsightly forms? An idiotic idea? Waste of time? A case for the wastepaper basket? Please leave your opinion.
With kind regards
Mariusz "ginger|HFD" Bieniek
