Here are a list of errors I have been receiving ... I’ve read the FAQ on the timeout problem and about 20 different threads about it, but haven’t been able to find a solution. Anything from the FAQ on the topic have either not worked or are not applicable.
The situation is that, I was logged on to our TS server and then logged off. 2 min later I tried to log back on and got 2 errors that I quickly clicked passed and TS has not work since.
I don’t think it is a router or sever problem because nothing could have changed in those 2 min.
I have reinstalled multiple times, deleting the conf file as well ... as well as going through regedit for anything i missed.
I have updated my soundcard.
I have tried diffent versions of TS
I am at a complete loss to what could be causing this, no one else on the server is having this problem.

Ok for anyone that has had this problem, it seems like I have found the fix. To find out if you are having this specific problem you need to run the CMD command to get to the command prompt. Once you there type in "tracert (the ip address of ts server)" EXAMPLE: c:\tracert 22.222.222.222
Once you do that, if you connect all the way to your serve, stop now you have a different problem.
If you have my problem you get a return "reports: Destination host unreachable." That means that the router you hit, that stops you, does not have the router list to complete your connection.
What you will have to do look at the IP where the connection stops, mine was with "ALTER.NET" which is an MCI main router. Once you find the IP and find out who it is you will have to contact their tech support and tell them that they have this problem and that they need to update their router lists. In my case it was a pier network that they were working with that had messed up the rout lists.
You many have to be somewhat forceful about this, because unless you get actual techsupport people who know what they are doing, they will be tempted to dismiss your problem as a host that does isn’t online, and not a problem on their end.
Anyway I believe this is the answer to all the threads I have read before about this problem.
Your welcome in advance,
The Body
P.S. If any admins see this I would suggest that you add this to your FAQ at some point, although rare ... my head was about to explode while I spent 5 hours trying to fix the problem, so it would be nice to save someone else the heartache of being completely clueless about the problem while all their friends chat away on TS.
