Push to talk turning itself off
I have made a post about this before and recieved some suggestions on what to try. I followed them all and it did not help. Been trying to get this to work for about 7 months now.
The problem : When i restart my comp everything is working fine. When i use my push to talk binded key the green light illuminates and people can hear me. But eventually the push to talk just stops working. I push my binded button and the green light does not light up at all. If i restart my comp everything is working fine again. But usually within 30 minutes of using TS it disables itself again. Now when the push to talk goes down like this my voice activation doesnt work either.
Things i have tried : I have deleted TS and reinstalled it countless times. I have looked up proper installation and settings and followed them to the T. I have updated drivers on everything that i can. I have used nearly every key possible to try to bind to ( and they all work for a time, then nothing).
If this helps at all i currently use TS when i am playing World of Warcraft. Cant talk obviously but can listen
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Cotner.

It's times like this that you have to ask yourself, is push-to-talk really worth it? I LOVE teamspeaks voice activation. It is one of the many reasons i prefer it over vent. Voice activation only takes about 2-3 min of good tweaking before you can set it up prefectly. You never have to deal with the hassle of pushing a button when you need to speak. For games like counter-strike that require quick reflexes it seems like a god-send.

Does your mic work when this error occures? If you are not sure, try to record something from your mic and play it.
Another thing I'd recommend is updating your sound drivers. If that does not help either, my last try would be to delete the TeamSpeak.Conf in %AppData%\teamspeak2 (might be hidden, be sure to check for that). The only problem: When you delete this file, all TeamSpeak settings are lost, especially your servers address book. Remember to save any data somewhere else if you want to keep it.

me again
yes my mic does continue to work even when the green light wont come on anymore. Also i have noticed that if i open my internet browser while TS is also up that shuts off my talking capabilities also.
It seems i have a conflict somewhere and i have no idea where it could be. Does anyone know of a program i can download that would check for something like that. Also could faulty memory contribute to this at all? I have no way of knowing if my memory is bad, but it seems my push to talk stops working when the computer is working on other things like when i am playing world of warcraft or when i am surfing the web. Just sounds like it may have something to do with memory. And of course does anyone know of a site to download a program to check if your memory is ok.
Thx again to all trying to help me out here.

I have the same problem. I have noticed this problem in all games i have played since i have this problem (Counter Strike 1.6, World of Warcraft and Civilization 4). Push to talk and voice activation stops working within 30 minutes of using TS and playing a game.
Only when i close TS and the game i will works again.

I'm having the exact same problem. At some point in time after starting TS, be it 5 minutes or 5 hours, the Push-To-Talk, Voice Activation, well actually everything related to audio transmission refuses to work anymore. I'm pretty sure it's not a sound problem, since I'm not even getting a green light when I try the hotkeys and the mic works just fine for anything but voice communication programs. So far as I've seen, nothing short of a full restart will fix the issue.
I'd appreciate if someone could do some sleuthing and get to the bottom of this so us afflicted few can get back on track.

@TranceK
Can you still record in in other tools (like win wave recorder,...) when push to talk does not work anymore in TS ?
Just a guess: could it be a directX (directInput) related problem => reinstall directx ?

I've also been having this issue. There are no new sound drivers to re-install. I notice this mostly while playing Battlefield 2. If I alt-tab out of BF2, PTT doesn't even register the fact I'm pressing my PTT key. If I exit BF2, teamspeak functions normally again (no restart required).
I'll try re-installing DirectX as previously suggested, as it's the only thing I haven't thought to try yet.
