Is this really the support you have to offer on Mirc?

I went to irc looking for help because I was trying to set-up a server and all I got was crapt. I am very satisfied with TS in general but this was unacceptable. When you set people in the position to help others they are respectively representing you and your company. I really hope what I saw tonite is not what teamspeak is supposed to stand for. All I saw was a power hungry kid who was no help at all. After I asked for help in finding the server.log file I was asked for the exact file names I had. I proceeded to name them exactly as they were listed for me to see. Now I am not a computer genius,if I was I wouldnt have been looking for help, and all I got was "That's why I don't use Winblose" Can someone tell me exactly what the purpose of that statement was. If your Support personal is not familiar with an operating system why not teach them to say "I am sorry I am not familiar with that OS" It was very rude and uncalled for and I will have to rethink my support and usage of your programs. I participate in serveral orginizations that use and love TS and now Im afraid that I will have to go back to them and tell them about the lovely support I recieved. On my leave of you Mirc channel these were the last words of the fabulous helper

"<AD|pwklinuxfan> why dont you rename to RtFM ? Are you to well behaved a clan ?
-QUERY-TS:#teamspeak- (Dictionary for noobs: RTFM = Read The Fucking Manual)
    <AD|pwklinuxfan> Query-ts stfu

He was referring to the tag I was wearing which was RtM|star. I will seriously have to rethink my recommending teamspeak to anyone else now.

Hmm I dont realy think you understand.

Linuxfan is not a teamspeak guy. He does help out a lot of people and does some testing for us. He does this whitout any compensation. Like all of us. We just help to help.

Now understand that some people (incl. me) get tired when someone asks a question that has been asked 10.000 times, and the answer is in the readme, the manual and in the forums.

If you payed for a license and you have a serious problem, you can mail us. IRC support is purely to support the community at large.

If you haven't put any effort in solving your problem yourself, most people in the IRC channel are inclined to tell you so... in a rough manner.
I have done so myself in the past depending on my mood. I get very tired when people come in, expected to be helped within the minute and didn't do any research themselves. They piss me off. A lot. You haven't paid for the program. We have put a lot of time and effort in it to make it work.
A part of the deal with 'freeware' is that you will have to contribute in some way. With us it is showing your efforts to solve the problem yourself. If you do, you will be rewarded with help by enthousiastic people. If you don't, get ready to be scorned. If you can't live with that (or the people that you recommend teamspeak to) I wish you a nice transition phase to another program.
And please do read the f00kin manual.. I spend more than 2 weeks on writing it. It was hard work and I don't get paid for it. If people ask me things that are in the manual.... it makes me angry...

There is a server manual too.. it's just not released yet as it contains some errors and when I''ll release it will have to be rewritten totally for RC2 ..
But I'll have a look at it tonight and make Niels put it online on the homepage

Ya, I am hardly on IRC, but I have posted a bit in the forums and even then I know I can get a bit testy when I see poor forum etiquette.

Please use the forums, there is a lot of good information there in fact (as a guess, I would say) 95% of all problems are already addressed one way or other in the forums.

I do apologise if I have offended anyone by getting a bit snarky. And will endeavour to conduct myself in a more professional manor even though I am (as most support peeps are for TeamSpeak) a volunteer!!!
