Problem removing the registration from channels
Hello, Our guild has a working TS2 server and all is good except that we want to create a channel for unreg'ed users (i.e. friends of registered users who we don't know well enough to reg yet) to run along side all our other reg'ed channels.
The problem is that when ever we create or edit an un-registered channel, it disappears when the last person leaves. This is really annoying as we have to keep re-creating a channel or leave a member in the channel 24/7.
Is there any way to edit/create a channel that doesn't require any registration and have it so the channel stays there when the last person leaves?
Thanks in advance.

Hi.

There isn't a way to make unreg. channels stay. They will always be reset when last man leaves.
The only way you can actually do what you want, is to go to the web control panel (you will have to be admin or superadmin) and change the permission for anomyous users. The line
"ChannelJoinRegistrered" must have a tick in the box. That way, an unregistrered user is able to join all the registrered channels on the server.
However - if you still have non-public areas amongst the Reg. channels, you will have to password protect them, which will also be annoying.
I "made" a relatively simple solution. Unregistrered users can use the Default channel - regardless of, that it's a registrered channel - so I let people use that. After all, if they want to use teamspeak so bad - they can go make their own server.
Hope the answer helped you.

Thanks for your response, the "ChannelJoinRegistrered" solution seems to be the way to go as most of the channels we have are passworded.
Thanks once again.

This has nothing to do with the ability to let in unregistered people,.... it's just the flag for making a channel permanent or not

Uhm... My server acts the other way around. (U) channels disappear, when server is empty, while (R) channels always stays. And I know the solution, I suggested from a different server, that had the same problem, and solved it in the way described above.

In all servers the (U) channels dissapear when the last person leaves and the (R) channels always stay. I think his subject in the second sentence was the unregistered channels, not registered channels.

I'm sorry, but to the best of my reading skills, it actually says unregistrered channels. ?

So I'm perplexed, as to what we are actually discussing?
The user posted a question, that I for one could understand and reply to, and the user seems content with the answer... ?
So what is this, please tell me, as I can't really see the point

uhm äh sorry for the confusion....
=> set the registered flag by editing the channel => R(egistered) => channel will stay even if no one is in it again
=> remove the registered flag => U(nregistered) => channel will be deleted when the last person leaves
Last but least, that question is answered in the manual !
=> CLOSED !
