requested featurez..
A ip ban option for server... available true clients.. (subnets compatible like 218.23.4.* )
a simple popup window with a white window to the right with the current banned ip's and nice "remove ip" and "add ip" buttons to the left with a entry box...
That should do the trick
and makes my life easyer to ban unwanted ppl who join and shout all over the channel when your in the middle of a war...
( Mayb also a ip listing behind the nick available for ca or sa only.. )
and mayb a easy Text entry box on the bottom to make it easyer to type stuph to the channel... more like mirc.. style typing... easyer for pasting urls etc.... i am switching to msn/icq or irc to past them now... i hate going true richtclicks and menus ;D
that should be nice.. and make me love the prog even more i love it already...
Keep the up g00d work!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always think about why you can't close a whole server-session (as you can in GameVoice)... so after all your people are on the server you just can press a key (selected by key settings) and close the server, so no-one can join afterwards. (should only work as an admin
)
so if anyone crashed you just could press that key again, wait him for rejoining and close the server again. (or perhaps the channel).
I think that's even more useful when you're in a game, because you don't have to leave the game just to ban someone.

Well having passworded channels in my opinion is better. And once someone has provided the password to enter the channel then they have access again if they loose connection with out you having to uncheck, wait and recheck a box.
If you have sufficiant rights to make a channel you can set one up for just one game if you wish. This allows for just that games peeps into that communication and if someone is invited in and later is not wanted, right now you have to kick from channel and change the password. (Tho, I am not sure this will take effect until server is restared or not.)Last edited by Cstar_maxim; 13-01-2003 at 08:25.

tEXT mESSAGING
As far as the text messaging goes,
For me its plenty easy enough to hit ALT+C, then T.
What I do wish though is that we could just hit "ENTER" to send them rather than needing to click "OK"
Also, Registered user should be able to use the text messaging in "Un-Moderated" channels, but this feature doesnt seem to work. I have to grant "CA" rights for them to send text.
Is it just a bug? I imagine.
Thanks,
TS2 has been one of the best things to come to our battalion!

and back to the banning
A ban option would be great to be able to ban users from the server (host/ip/nick). And while we are banning an option to time ban would be great also. Channel based and server based banning could be done seperatly, wich would make the TS server even more usable.
Now there is no banning integrated so anyone who has the anonymous password just can rejoin after a kick, and nothing can be done about it besides shutting down the server. But when you are running a clan TS server you can't just shut it down for one lamer when a simple ban system could be integrated.
Second there should be some kind of right server on channels for unregistered users server sided. For example that unregistered users can't join passworded channels, or a new channel flag that prohebits unregistered users to join ( set by the Server Admin ). There are just to many people that pass their password around as it where a public server, there should be restriction possibilities for this.
Maybe even a punishment option for unregistered users, so Channel Admins will have to register his users that he wants to keep in the channel. Something like that an unregistered users just can't stay longer then a variable time ( set server sided and can be changed any time by the Server Admin ), and after that period gets a time ban ( same conditions as before ).

p.s.: I hope someone from the DEV team will read this, superior programs are made by listening to there users, aren't they

Change the password, then kick the offending non registered person. He will have to attain the new password before he can get back in.

we did run a ts2 for a couple of clans.... and its simple not handy when you have the change the server pass and then to have spread the new pass around.... oh, and the channel pass thing is unacceptable because we want to be able to talk to ppl without giving pass to ppl and change them evryweek.... we did fix the problem by switching from ts2 to Ventrilo simply because there is a ban function in it and it works like a charm.
ps: get a haircut

Accually just did get my hair cut this afternoon.
I don't think you have to send the password to the registerd users that are on the channel that you change it on you may not have to inform any registered user of that channel.
I have used both banning and passwording and without a doubt passwording is better. Anyone can jump to a differant computer and join in as someone else with banning and it can also ingage a large database of rejects (could never figure out why people would want to have a$$Wholz names and information on their computer)and processing time to administer. If you have quality people using your system passwording is best and why would you play with substandard peoples?
But I will put you at ease, this was suggested long ago during BETA of TS2 and before. I think its in the works. I do not know for sure when but I do believe its comming.Last edited by Cstar_maxim; 08-02-2003 at 07:53.
