OpenBSD - Lockup issue
Fresh install on openbsd 3.8. Extracted the packages, set permissions, everything started up perfectly. Connected to the server and the admin site.
Server stops responding after about 3-5 minutes, timing out the client and web interface pages.
Restart the server:
Then it works for a few min then does the same thing over again.
superadmin accounts and passwords when it is ran the first time, I cant log in as superadmin, only admin.
Ideas?Last edited by phong; 25-03-2006 at 20:51.

I am experiencing the same issue. I have a default install of OpenBSD 3.8 (no X) I enabled the linux binaries emulation, installed the redhat base, and edited the startscript to point to ksh instead of bash. The webadmin does not respond and users get punted in about 5 minutes.

Recently I 've tried to start a TS server running under linux emulation (again) but this time I am using OpenBSD 4.0 and re-read through the compat_linux man page.
- Performed a clean installation of OpenBSD 4.0 (just the base no X).
- sudo sysctl kern.emul.liunx=1 (pkg_add also does this when installed redhat_base...)
- uncommented the kern.emul. line in the rc.conf (for when the server is rebooted.. if ever required)
- downloaded/extracted the tss_rc2 bzip/tarball
- edited the teamspeak_start... script to point to /bin/ksh as I don't have bash installed
- unpacked the same tss2 on a clean debian box to run the ldd command and copied the libs to my OpenBSD box.
- ran the script to start the server then ran it again with the password option to awk the log (shortcut to view superadmin/admin passwords)
- connected to the server via a windows client
After less than 10 minutes the client is disconnected. the status script says "the server appears to be running"
'top' shows the processes are increasing in memory consumption and clients cannot log in to the ts server.
edit: the webadmin does not respond at all.Last edited by dualcells; 30-11-2006 at 20:31. Reason: additional info
