Need help installing TS Server on Fedora Core 4 OS

I created a new user, tss, and installed the linux teamspeak 2 server.
When executed it seems to work OK.
I can use the browser to log into it.

Log file:
Server version 2.0.20.1 Linux
Starting VirtualServer id:1 woth port 8767.
TemaSpeak server daemon activated.

Using a DLink router with forward port routing.

Probelm is I cannot connect to it via my Windows XP client.
Version 2.0.32.60

I has a windows version up and runnign just fine except the computer dies so I tried my Linux box.

Am I missing something?

1) your thread is not clear to me. Do you try to connect from windows client to a linux server or vice versa ?

2) have you noticed the FAQ threads dealing with "no reply, timeout,.." ?

Trying to connect a windows client to a linux server.

I still can't get the Linux server up. I now have a windows server which is working fine.
Linux client can connect to the Windows server. Linux client running on same machine as Linux server can connect to Linux server. Planet test works fine on Windows server. Cannot connect Windows client using direct addressing to Linux server. What's up with Linux?

Does the OS have to be a server version?

TS runs fine on my server Fedora 5 x86-64

sounds like a port forward issue your having or does tss2 process fail to start up.

Read item #4. I have three computers hooked up on an internal LAN and I am using direct addressing. Port forwarding doesn't come into play here. I have port forwarding turned on for the Windows server and it works fine.

Is the firewall turned on in fedora? Find the "Security leve and Firewall" menu option or run "system-config-securitylevel" in a terminal window as the su. Check the option under other ports. If there isn't a port there then add one for TS.

Very good! typed system-config-securitylevel and it shows that the firewall is enabled. I added to other ports - 8767:udp. It now works. Thanks. I had suspected the firewall but the utility I used, can't remeber what is was called, told me the firewall was disabled.
