Microphone working when monitered in Windows, but not on TS.

    System Information:
    TeamSpeak 2 2.0.32.60
    Windows XP Home SP2
    Realtek AC'97 Audio
    -driver:5.10.0.5750
Game does not matter, though World of Warcraft is most often played.
    DirectX 9.0c

Ok, here's the problem. Teamspeak had been working perfectly up until a few days ago. However, I recently installed RAM into the computer and since then it seems that TS is messing up a lot. I can monitor the microphone in Windows and everything comes through perfectly, but as soon as I join TS it almost seems like a feedback loop starts up, even though I am using headphones. I've tried switching from Direct Sound to Wave and back, but no matter what it is messing up. There is no game open when I test this, no other programs that would be using the sound card. This seems to be a direct Teamspeak error, or I am missing something quite significant. I don't see how RAM could effect it, but I hadn't used TS in days and in the middle of those days the only real change I made to the computer was installing it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Teamspeak, I really just am running out of solutions. Any help would be very appreciated.

Maybe similar Problem at my Machine

I got TS running under W98 for years without Problems. The only lack was that my AC97 onboard always produced a feedback like yours, seaming to record it's own output with no visual reason. Under W98 i solved the Problem by installing a old SB16 (Eisa) and made TS use this as record and AV97 as output. Worked fine until i switched to XP. Now there's another mess : The "recording" indicator in TS only reacts for 4-5 seconds, as it is supposed to, meaning switching on when i talk and off when i'm silent. Voice activation.. no problen.. Volume also easy. BUT: only 4-5 seconds, then it feezes at the on or off Position, where it is in the moment and does not react at all, until a chance settings to "force 8bit encoding" or back. Then it works again for a small time and freezes again
    Any suggetions?

And i'm not sure if this Problem apeared as i went from 512MB ram to 1 Gig. Maybe the sourche although i dont know howthis may affect TS's recording routines.

Ok i dl'd the newest Version of TS now. This does not react AT ALL to my mic connected to the SB Card^^
Ok Windows Audio recorder also dosent take any noise from the mike.. ill try to dl a original SB driver..

I can hardly belive changing RAM size would effect any thing like you describe.

    @Shortelf
Check if your soudn mixer is configured correct: http://www.ekstremt.net/index.php?showtopic=81

Sounds to me liek a driver problem. We'd read that problem daily in the forum if it would be related between XP and TS ???

seems like you don't have the mic as muted under the volume control.

Check your mixer settings for recording, if "Stero Mix" is not muted, try muting it, I found that this was causing feedback for me, as soon as i muted it my boom headset has worked a dream. I'm not sure why adding extra ram would have changed this tho..
