[Ts2] Windows/Linux Server Binary BETA 2.0.22.3
Hi there,
I'm happy to inform you that a new TeamSpeak 2 server binary is available.
The new version deals with the following issues:
- fixed crashes which occured on "Exception2 EIdSocketError.Host not found" events
- minor fixes
Please note that this version also contains all bugfixes that were previously released in Linux binaries (2.0.21.3, 2.0.22.1 and 2.0.22.2).Due to liability reasons we recommend the use of this version.
You can download the new release here.
Unfortunately I have to announce that - due to technical reasons - there won't be any future versions of the native service binary for Windows. You should try to use the Srvany & Instsrv utilities fom the Windows Resource Kit to install your TeamSpeak 2 server as a service instead. In my oppinion this will result in better compatibility on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, since the service binary was developed for Windows NT/2000.
Kind regards
Sven

Well that's a bummer. Fortunately I am very familiar with instsrv and srvany so it's not a big deal.

Well, I upgraded my server to 2.0.22.3
Here is what I have found,
when registered users log out, then have to wait about 30 seconds to log back in
unregistered users can rejoin at will, but it shows something like nick1, then nick2, then nick 3
It seems like this feature is to stop spam bots, but it seems like more of a hasle and wouldn't TeamSpeak 2 Anti-Flood Daemon be just as good?
Also, my TeamSpeak 2 Anti-Flood Daemon and TS2PerlMod do not appear to be working with 2.0.22.3
If those are the only fixes in this release, I think that I am going back to 2.0.22.2- fixed crashes which occured on "Exception2 EIdSocketError.Host not found" events
- minor fixes
*EDIT*
When I was using 2.0.22.3 everyone started to sound really choppy. I investigated and realized that everyone was getting around a +-7% packet loss. I then shut down the teamspeak server and switched back to 2.0.22.2 and the packet loss went away. Any response as to why that might of happened?Last edited by veggii; 08-06-2006 at 05:09.

@veggi:
Thanks for your feedback. We'll investigate that issue as soon as possible.

@veggi:
I'm sorry, but I could not reproduce the "packet loss" issue you described. Even the 3rd paty scripts - like the TeamSpeak 2 Anti-Flood Daemon - that I've tested were running fine.

@Stickfreak:
You'll need to install the latest stable version of the TeamSpeak 2 server (2.0.20.1). Then replace the server_windows.exe with the new release.

If version 2.0.20.1 BETA is to remain on the downloads page it might be wise to add a notice about the known problems it has.

And you didn't find any older operating system?

Anyway, thank you for the information. Maybe we can still find an old, dusty Windows 98 CD somewhere in our basement to give it a try.

Thanks for telling us.
Your post is completely unrelated to this thread and doesn't contain any useful information.

28-06-2006, 15:44 #15i was just relaying that someone else is having issues with the ts2perlmod. I ran the exe for it, it starts up fine saying its connected, logged in etc. but when i connect to my server, nothing shows up. No welcome message or advert text.
