TS CPU usage and Deferred Procedure Calls
Good Morning,
Over the past few weeks since I have reinstalled TS, I have noticed that some of my Games are a bit sluggish. When Idling, My CPU sits at approx 20%. I currently run a 3.6 Ghz Intell system, with 2 Gb of Ram I am running with a Sound Blaster Live 24 bit EXT USB sound card.
I went on a hunt last night looking for the culprit and I deleted a number of fun yet completely unused programs, I checked for Viruses and I checked for Spyware with 3 different programs. I then Ran a Sysinternals program called Process explorer and found that I have approx 20 utilization in DPC's (Deffered Procedure Calls"). When I shut down TS This usaage goes away. any ideas why this is happening ? and how do I get it to stop
TeamSpeak version (complete string: 2.0.xx.xx)--- 2.0.32.60
Operation System (including Service Packs / Kernel Version, Kernel Patchset) Win XP Pro SP1 Fully Patched as of Yesterday
Soundcard & Driver version Sound Blaster Live 24 Bit EXT Current driver
Game (full name, no shortforms like "CS") N/A
DirectX Version 9.c
Error message (information out of your TSclient.log or server.log can be very useful) N/A
How often does the error appear? Every time I Open TS
What did you try to fix the problem? reinstalled TS as well as Uninstalled a number of other applications

Same problem here
Solved: First thing I did was determine whether or not the USB headset was causing the problem. I went into option and set the Input and Output devices to my sound card and not the USB headset. As soon as I did this the CPU usage went form 32% to 2%. Next after reenabling the I/O to the Headset the CPU went back to 32%. I then figured maybe its a problem with the fact that I have the USB headset plugged into a USB hub (powered). I then took the Headset and plugged it directly into the USB ports on the motherboard. Viola!!!! Headset working and normal CPU utilization. I reckon there must be some conflict or something going on with the running it through the USB hub. So I won't, it just made it a bit more convienient to switch between the headset and speakers, but no big deal.
I am having the exact same problem. I don't even have to connect to a server. I just open Teamspeak and my CPU usage goes to 30%.
I have uninstalled, and reinstalled run every Anti Virus scanner I can find, and 4 different spyware detectors as well.
I have other systems that work fine. It is just this one rig causing me headaches.
Any help would be appreciated.

What did you try to fix the problem? Haven't fixed it yet. Used Process Explorer from Sysinternals to find the CPU usage.Last edited by bNasty; 06-08-2006 at 05:45.

I'm also having this problem.
TeamSpeak version (complete string: 2.0.xx.xx)--- 2.0.32.60
Operation System (including Service Packs / Kernel Version, Kernel Patchset) Win XP Home SP2
Soundcard & Driver version: SoundMAX HD Audio current driver
Game (full name, no shortforms like "CS"): N/A
DirectX Version: 9.c
Error message (information out of your TSclient.log or server.log can be very useful): N/A
How often does the error appear?: Consistently with every time I open TeamSpeak.
What did you try to fix the problem?: I tried the changing input/output devices from the my soundcard to the Primary Capture and Sound Devices, didn't help. I have a USB headset that was plugged directly into my computer, but unplugging it didn't help either.
