I guess this is not going to happen while the new server versions are still in the BETA state. However, I'm not a TeamSpeak 2 developer so it's not my decision.

Anyways, works good for me so far, though my server has extremely low activity. Good work!

in fact, if you wanted to supress some of these false client attacks then you could even require the new server package be used with a new client package as well and incriment the version numbers for both. iirc there was a time a long while ago where there was a forced client update (well not "forced" but you couldnt use the old client on the new server)

Wow, that's one of the best ideas for Teamspeak that I've heard in a long time. It would be really cool. The only thing is that someone skilled could somehow emulate the sending of a client version...

We know a bit more than you.

This list contains IPs which are excluded from the servers bruteforce protection. Add a new line with your IP and you won't be banned for entering incorrect passwords.

That's at least what this list is supposed to do. Did I already mention that we are talking about BETA software?

Hmmm... do wildcards work with this?

well obviously they would need to do something more sophisticated than just upping the version numbers to ensure that the client was legit, that was just my attempt at keeping it simple :P

I have absolutely no idea. But according to our TeamSpeak 2 developer, they don't.

Hmmm, it doesn't seem to work at all. I've added my IP, and even restarted the server program. (Linux) Still get banned for bad pw.

May we enter hostnames in the file as well? This would work great for those of us on a dynamic IP address (i.e. at home) but use a (static) domain name that is updated via Dynamic DNS.

If the whitelist does not currently support domain names, would you please add this functionality?

Yeah well, if IPs don't work, then I think getting that to work would be a priority.

I appreciate the update to TS very much. I've gotten it installed and am glad for the security updates.

One thing I'll mention is that as a new TS operator I found it a bit hard to determine what to do with the linux file. Those experienced here know that the 'server_linux' file just needs to be placed in the correct directory. I had to search the forums for that information.

Its not that big of a deal, but then, neither is putting the 'server_linux' file in an archive along with a .txt file with instructions for noobs like me. You could throw in a change log and make it even more useful.

Again, thanks for the updates and I hope the suggestion is appreciated.
