Vista, TS, and WoW
I have a brand new computer running Vista. When I run TS and World of Warcraft, the whole thing crashes. Sometimes it's instant, but I've gotten TS to run for a max of about 30 minutes. Any ideas what the problem is?

I may the recommended changes with little to no effect. I still crash at random, usually within the first 10 minutes of running both programs together. Any other ideas?

I am also running vista HomePremium on a machine I built, and this happened to me alot. Not with WoW but in any game. I figured it was my memory so I unmounted all my virtual drives (Power & Magic ISO), closed all background apps (AVG, People near me, Windows messenger, etc.) and it still happened. Then I thought it was my video card, so i got two nVidia GeForce 6600s running on SLI single monitor w/ aftermarket GPU cooling system and it still didn't work! grrr! So at this point I think it is just incompatibility issues with Vista. If you can, stick with XP until next year when DX10 comes and all the games will be releasing Vista patches and Vista hardware drivers. Check to make sure that all your drivers (especially video card & motherboard) are made for Vista 32 (unless you're running in 64-bit). Hope this helped!

Call XPS Technical support. Even though it sounds like a hardware issue, they may have a heads up on a vista incompatibility with VoIP programs and such, never hurts to give it a try.. Dell tech will at least give a 10 minute shot at it...

I've also checked Vista forums and based on their info, made the following changes to no avail:
run TS as admin (as suggested here also)
run WoW as admin
run TS on direct (not wave)
set compatibility on both to XP, Service pack 2

check other components
Sorry to jump in like this...
Seswatha, you may want to check and see if your video card is causing the problem... when my husband started playing WoW on Vista, the card caused the computer to crash--but only after a few weeks of playing and not when he first started with it. (We haven't added voice chat yet--that's why I'm on here, to look for options).
Through FAQ's or something on Blizzard, I found that with Vista you need a MINIMUM of 1gb RAM on your video card... I swapped out the video card and he hasn't had a problem since. It was possibly another gaming site tho. Look on Blizzard's site to see what they are saying to be sure.
Good luck
