Success!!
Firstly let me thank the few of you who support to me query posted previously.
I have been playing around with the router and have found a setting that makes it work. It is called DMZ (whatever that is =D). It says the following about it:
If you have a client PC that cannot run an Internet application properly from behind the firewall, you can open the client up to unrestricted two-way Internet access. This may be necessary if the NAT feature is causing problems with an application such as a game or video conferencing application. Use this feature on a temporary basis
After enabling this, it seemed to work.
I am assuming I am still safe as I have McAfee Internet Security. Please advise??

No. Because a AV only scans file sfor viruses and not TCP / UDP packets..
Fix your forwarding and firewalls issue's, because DMZ opens up your pc to the whole wide world, including those that llok for easy targets for there botnet..

If it is the NAT redirection feature that is messing you up, then check the security settings. It is a lot safer to not to filter that than to enable DMZ.

if ur using a linksys router, make sure you have block anonymous requests unchecked. But DMZ, is not the way to go!
The only reason you should have to use DMZ, is if you have a computer that is running so many servers, your portforwarding function is full.
