PTT troubles
ok, ive had a look on these forums, and ive found a problem just like the one im having, however what others have said is a solution does not work for me
i am running vista 64bit, all my drivers are up to date and my system is as healthy as i can get it
my push to talk button (ive tried it with various buttons, alt, ctrl, scroll lock, a-z) works fine if teamspeak is the active window, or if the desktop is active, and even if a window explorer is the active window, however if anything else is active, ptt will not function. voice activated will work in all situations for me. also my ptt will not work with any full screen aplications.
this is strangely a new bug for me, with the same system and same set up this has not been a problem in the past. whats also odd is that my key bindings (as done through the menu -> settings -> key settings) will work in a full screen app, i have bindings to talk to single people, and they can hear me fine when i use these, but any key bound to ptt will not light up my green bobble
so as far as i can tell, the only thing not working is the push to talk option, voice activated and key binds do the job fine. odd no?
ive had a look through these forums, and found the threads stating that if the client is run as an administrator and/or it is run in win xp sp2 compatability mode that this will fix the problem. however, for me this does not work, in fact, when run in compatability mode it actually prevents my ptt from working when ts2 is the active window! (if desktop or and explorer window is active then ptt will work!!). ive have tried with the Disable Direct input option turned both on and off in every imaginable combination.
this is well and truly doing my nut in! if anyone can help i would be extremely grateful

ok ive found something else out
if i start my game, and allow it to load, and try to use ptt, it wont work.
if i start my game, and when the splash screen appears on my desktop (in this case the one for warcraft3) i leftclick on the desktop, the game proceeds to load as normal and as though nothing were different, however, doing this single left click allows ptt to work as normal within the game
then, im not sure why, i decided to run the game with administrator mode turned off, and, it seems as though ptt works now, more and more i think that this is a problem to do with windows and not ts2, but im no expert on these things, and i still hope someone can shed some light for me
ive since tested this with other programs, anything run in administrator mode prevents teamspeak from detecting that a ptt or key binding is being pushed, when the same program is run without administrator mode on, ts2 is able to detect ptt/key binds.
again, any help much appreciatedLast edited by Akiyatsu; 04-08-2007 at 15:38.

It is a combination of the two systems. UAC is something only for vista and ts2 and many other software has problems dealing with the new type of system.

This is certainly not an issue unique to Vista. I am running XP MCE and have been suffering through the same problems for months. The only fix for me was to run TS as administrator, which then wouldn't allow TS Overlay to operate properly - oh well, at least TS was working again. Well until yesterday. I am not getting the same issues even while running TS as administrator. I have changed nothing with my computer nor how I open things. It just stopped working at an apperently random time just as it did in the past.
