    Teamspeak 2 Server Probs

Hey all having a few difficulties connecting to my server

Its a local server running an a seperate machine at home, ports 8767 have been forwarded and the ip correctly forwarded.

Howerver i cannot connect to teamspeak://ts.littledave.net:8767/

    bu i can connect to

    teamspeak://81.98.151.129:8767/

As far as i can tell the ip has been correctly set up as it resolves to my ip, the router is correctly set up but i cannot still connect.

    Any one got any ideas

Try to connect via ts.little... to the Webadmin.

If that also fails then the IP is NOT resolved correctly
But bevore you will have to forward the webadmin port, of course.

Is the server inside the lan that you are trying to connect from?

Most routers have a setting that does not allow you to use the dns or wan ip to connect.

The port is forwarded as I can see the webadmin at the address of http://ts.littledave.net:14534

I know about the host file. I create forum websites from time to time on my computer first then upload it for the actual servers complete. It is a lot easier, for the sake of not having to change all the entries later, to edit the my host file and have it go to my lan server. I even use program to play joke on people that connect from inside my lan, friends that come over, in which my computer become a temporary dns server and when they request an address I can send them to another site, but it will show whatever they requested in the address bar. Best one so far was changing myspace to ratemypoo.com.

But I was talking about routers. I should have put dns names instead of just dns to make it more correct. So if his dns server is on the other side of his router, when it resolves the address and the address is his wan ip he, because of the most routers not being able/allowed to connect to it's own wan ip, could have a problem connecting.
