Server connections drop on Bluehost
I currently have a TS server running on Bluehost. It has been running since about May of 2007 with no problems. On the 8th of Jan, Bluehost did an Apache 2 upgrade I was told, when I was on LiveChat with them cause my TS server was not working.
Since then, every day, at least once per day, the server seems to drop connections, and then no one can get back on. They are told the server is not running. The problem is that I have a plugin I put on my website after this upgrade issue, that shows the server is running. Just the connections are not making to the server is my guess.
I am wondering if anyone else has had any issues with TS with Apache 2 on a Linux server. Does anyone know if there is a way for me to trace connectcions to the server itself, so that I can see exactly what time the connections are dropped? Maybe then I can have Bluehost look at their firewall or network logs for IP's and see what was happening at that time?

Well, Bluehost told me to try changing the server from port 3820 to 3821. I dont' see how that would affect much. They are thinking maybe someone is trying to run a server on same port as me... I highly doubt someone else is using the same port, and even so, if they set theirs up correctly, it would be bound to their IP. Unless someone bound it to the root IP of the server?

Server still did a disconnect last night.. anyone with any ideas of what I can look at?
Also, when this happens, if I go to the web admin page at port 14534, and I stop the server, the web admin page goes down too. Is it supposed to do that? I thought the webadmin page should always be running...

Ive had the same problem. I have to keep deleting the tssserer.pid in order to start it back up, and when i edit something in webadmin, connection drops. I though it was the permisions, but I guess it wasn't. If anybody knows wat 2 do, PM bk
, i really want to start hosting again...
From what my friends said, the server goes down 10:00 PM Eastern
Im trying 2 figure this out.

Can I ask how you have managed to get it to run on bluehost, as they told me that they blocked all ports that are not needed for webhosting.

To host a TS off bluehost, u need to purchase a dedicated IP, and get shell access. You need to send in a photo ID, its stupid. The dedicated IP is like 25.00$ a year, and the shell access is free. If you want help on how to run the TS, or any of that, PM me back, or contact me on the following

Soo what is the limit of how many TS's you can host?
Is the limit, the number of process your can run on the server?
Do you think its worth setting up a TS hosting company on bluehost servers, cause I can get a deadicated server for £350/year.
Any advice welcome.

IT depends.
The teamspeaks dont lag, usally packet loss is: 0.00%
They dont go down unless u tell them
Im not sure how many teamspeaks u can host. IM running a publci server, and had like 20 people in it last night, and it was fine. So if u want 2 host a private server, or just a single server ur friends, then yes its worth it. But if ur going to host alot, it may go down. For 30.00$ a year. But buying the dedicated IP also makes ur sites run better. So I cant really tell if its worth it, its up to u.

Trying to work with bluehost on my server. I am running 2.0.20 which is outdated. It was the latest when I set it up, and it always worked. Since the apache2 upgrade the server does the drops. Bluehost suggested that I upgrade to the newest version of TS.
When I do that, using the 2.0.23 binary, I get a segmentation fault. I try to do the setarch i386 command before the startscript as mentioned in the FAQ, but it still will not work on bluehost. When I tried using the 2.0.24 binary, i get an ELF problem.
So from what I can see, Teamspeak will just not run on Bluehosts kernel or apache version.
Maybe version 3 of TS will work. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

yeah maby ts3 might work. But until then, so ur money dosen't go all to waste, just host 1 or two or maby 3 TeamSpeaks for ur friends or so. They will stay up. Since I only hosted one server, my uptime is: 1 day, 22 hours. So its perfect now

As of right now, I have v 2.0.23.19 running on BH. BH support was actually able to get it to work. I dont' know why I was getting the segmentation fault when I tried to upgraded from 2.0.20, but it did. Support did the upgrade today around 10am I think it was. I'll let ya know if I keep seeing problems, or if it's been fixed.

Im hosting 2 TeamSpeaks, on version 2.24.1, or what ever the newest version is. I get no problems, they have been up for about 5 days. They only go down, wen I try to shut em down, no problems here.
