After a few days in hell my rc2 b22 is finaly working, on a FreeBSD 5.0. I have an old IBM PC server 133 Mhz dual, with 128 Mb ram raid 5.
The first time i started the deamon, i got the abort msg, and after 10 sec or so, my server just rebootede, i was like WTF, this was as the user root, in the log file i got a socket error 103.
Then i tryed as a difrent user, that helped, i still get the abort msg, but its running sweet
so im not going to do anything about it!!
I have no ide why, but if i run the team speak server as root, its just rebooting, i can se with #top that server_linux is eating all cpu power.
I just wanna thanks all in here for the help and support, it helped me out, hope every one else in here get the help they need !!

As for why it's rebooting. . . who knows. . . maybe they were wise enough to add code that reboots any machine on which it's run as root.

I got a new kind off error, this error happens when i try to connect to the webinterface, the funny thing is that this worked when i installed it the first time, i did my first time configurations, and didnt touch it for week or to, and now i get this error, i dont get any login screen, its just dead..
Im useing FreeBSD 5.0Code:23-03-03 00:14:05,ERROR,All,WEBINTERFACE, Init Exception: Socket Error # 13 Access denied. 23-03-03 00:14:05,WARNING,Important,SERVER, Start_TeamSpeak_Server: cant initialise WebInterface 23-03-03 00:14:05,ALL,Info,server, Server init finished
133 Dual cpu IBM server with 133 Mb, normaly this server is running sweet,
Another thing is, somtimes my cpu usag, is going way to high, its running full speed at 0% idle, i can se that server_linux is takeing up to 95% off cpu usag, with no user's online its totaly random when this happens, normaly server_linux is takeing 10% with 10-15 user's online, any clues why??

I tryed to reboot the server as well, so iff the server_linux was hung up, its should be gone after the reboot i hope.Only thing I can think to suggest is make sure you don't have any hung copies of linux_server running in the background, keepting the TCP ports locked up.

The catch is that you need to read up on keeping current in the handbook, so that you know how to use cvsup, understand what release tag you need, and how to build the userland & kernel components in freebsd. Mergemaster understanding is a definite plus, as this helps keep you from breaking things as you upgrade. It's all relatively easy once you finally try it a couple times.Originally posted by AbbraCadaver
also... as for the guy that says you can upgrade...
um... upgrade is not yet available...
it's a re-installation thing.
Understanding cvsup will also help many people in trying to figure out how to install linux_base 7.1_2. The guy who has a server running 4.5 shoudl really look into updating it. I'd suggest signing up to the freebsd-security mailing list to understand WHY you should upgrade from 4.5 as well.
SO, it's not entirely a reinstallation thing, but that certainly is recommended if you're jumping between major versions.

I doubt it cuz BOTH my machines... F_BSD and Winblows said it was a text file!

Teamspeak Setup
hey all,
As the guy mentioned above that link points to a txt file, what are we supposed to be doing with this for FreeBSD? Also would anyone be able to lend a hand installing this for me if I dont figure it out?
Thanks in advance.

lol its not a text file its an exe but you can just use the standard distrib with both FreeBSD 5.0 and 4.8 below that you wont have any joy.

Web server is reporting the wrong MIME type. I think text/plain is typical when there's no other hint of what type to report.
