Server permissions not detected by client

Hi

I have a problem with my newly rented TS2 server. Firstly, I cannot log onto the server as admin with the client, or any kind of registered user, even though I have registered as server admin via the web configurator. So far it has only been possible for me to get on as Anonymous, but needless to say i will want to administrate the server. I have also tried to make a normal (non-admin) user registration via the web configurator, but the client still wont let me log on as either of the registered users. I then tried to give Anonymous users all the permissions an admin has, but it seems the TS client cannot see the new permissions. When I inspect my permissions via the client I still only have the standard allowances. This might be linked to the fact that the client cannot see the users i have registered on the server from the web interface, hence wont let me log on with that name/password. I have searched for an answer to this problem for hours now and Im out of ideas, so im hoping one of you guys may have a clue as to whats going on.

Ps. Since its a rented server I cannot log onto the server configurator as superadmin. I only have normal server admin rights if thats of any help.

You are renting it from someone. Would it not make since to ask them?

They have to the abilities to see your settings and possibly have seen this problem with their system before. They can solve a lot faster than we can if they know what they are doing.

I've talked to support from the firm im renting the server from, and they can login as any of the registered users just fine. When I try logging in as anything but "anonymous" I get a "bad login" error no matter which user i try. Im starting to think the problem is related to my TS2 client, but i have tried reinstalling several times and not tampered with any options. This must be/hopefully is a pretty rare problem cause i just cant find any solution, hence any help would be greatly appriciated

Are you doing quick connect or regular connect? This is a weird problem. Let me search around and get back to you.

Maybe you can toss your TS in debug mode and see if anything abnormal pops up in the log?

did you tryed connect to some public like voice.teamspeak.org or other teamspeak servers without problems?

I always try to log on with the regular connect. I put the log into debug mode but i dont get any additional info, it still only gives me the message "Bad Login (name and/or password wrong)" which is not true. I have double/triple/quadruple checked the login info on all the users i tried logging on as.

I could log onto voice.teamspeak.org with no problems at all, I've also tried other servers and it worked flawlessly

The address for the server is ts2.megahost.dk, password is 010986 (made a temporary PW that it will be changed again later).

Can you create a fake login and pm one of us the details to see if we can login to it?

Also, could you get a screen grab of TS just before you try to connect? you can black out the login name and whatever details you want. Just so we can double check your have them in the right slots.

I was able to log in as SA you made for me via client and WEBadmin as well.
and registered/SA didnt need server password man.
So server is ok. its your client or your connection/setup of your connection/firewalls/routers...

update I also logged without issues as Unregistered with server pass you posted.

I am afraid your problem is more on your connection(I mean client side) to the internet and something in there which is by more than half not related to hosting and thats also why its more like different topic.

It almost has to be clientside yeah, but now I have tried logging on as registered user from 3 different computers which have nothing in common at all so I dont know what to think at this point. Got the amazingly transparent error message "bad login" each time which is utter bull....
I have read the two topics you suggested Tomas. The first one seems similar to my problem, but offers no solution whatsoever. The other one is about setting up a TS server, which is not what im trying to do.
I've rented a server, which won't let me log on as admin or any sort of registered user via the client.
I have forwarded all the ports used by TS, in both my router and native windows firewall to no avail.

I've hit rock bottom idea-wise, but no way i can be the only person on the planet with this problem.

Seems I will either have to give up on this business and try Ventrilo instead...as you might be able to tell im getting slightly annoyed by all this.

hmmm yea now I am getting that msg too. I guess that means you have gave up :/

yea it should be client sided but on the other hand if you can connect to any other teamspeak servers it might be some mistake in configuration on that hosting.
I dont know what "nothing in common" is exactly...
The computers you have tryed lets assume they dont have same ISP and not either same most of the IP address.
I can think only about last change which would be try some very different hoster of teamspeak.
(some weird mistake on their side I mean)

for example one company one my friend payed for webhosting got even that bad connectivity from telehouse that it didnt let my whole country connect to that server (this is experience)
(and seriously dont even ask how stupid the admin was when he sended me tracert from his home.... which is "nothing in common" with server so it was really dumb)
