1. Mic won't stay muted under ms audio properties. Unmutes with reboot/sometimes starting stopping applications. requires about 4 windows to get to mic mute. Unmuted causes a constant hiss/room noise. Lowering levels to level that eliminates hiss causes almost inaudible mic input in ts. *edit, compare to xp x32 where a software muted mic was silent in your ears and transmitted fine with PTT and voice activation. /edit*

2. Push to talk and games, windows 7 has a setting to "allow applications to take sole control of mic" and another "prevent Other applications from taking control of mic. Various changes of these settings can cause a few seperate problems.
(a). Constant open and transmitting mic in ts while PTT is enabled. Voice activation works. Once this starts killing ts, then changing one of the above settings causes mic to act normally again.
(b). Unkeyable mic when using PTT while in other apps. Voice activated works, but suffers from problem 1, constant hiss being transmitted when you actually talk.
(c.) Light flashes green but no sound is transmitted until you alt+tab out and mute/unmute the mic/headset in the windows settings, Problems immediately repeat when clicking back into other app.

The checkbox under tools>options>other that warns that it may disable all PTT mappings doesn't seem to change anything for me at all.

Haven't tried any of the various in-game voice options as of yet, as the people I want to talk to are generally on TS and or in games I'm not playing at that particular moment.

Also haven't tried the various settings with the hardware card and a mic as I don't have a sound card type mic or headset atm.

Anyone have any solutions for the first two, or comparable experiences?

*edit2, sound device is a Logitech usb headset, whatever model it is with the big padded ears*
