Server Randomly stops allowing connections
Hey everyone,
I've set up a TeamSpeak server here on my home computer. The computer is connected through an ethernet cable to a router. I have set up port forwarding, and I gave people the external IP address and a port. I have had people in the server, and we've talked, but every now and then, the server does not allow connections.
I have checked to make sure my IP didn't change (it didn't) and that the port forwarding was still in effect on the router (the rules were still on!). However, neither I not anyone else could connect to the server with the external IP. Sometimes, this is fixed with a log off of the computer, other times it's fixed with a restart, but most times it doesn't get fixed until many hours later. It seems to fix itself, temporarily, but this has been happening since I've had the server.
Any ideas? I hope this isn't a common issue, I tried to search for threads like my problem. Thanks!

I can connect to it from the internal IP, yes. However, it gives the same error message as if you try to connect to any external IP with the server not running. I believe it is something like
[XX:XX:XX] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it

Please decide, if you can or can not connect. The message clearly shows that you are not connected to server.

Yes, I can connect through all 3 of those methods, and I can connect to the WAN and LAN, while it's working.
However when the server decides to stop allowing people to connect, it only allows the local connections, such as internal IP address, and none of the others.

That smells more like a network border device decision than teamspeak server wouldn't you say?
Assuming you have some kind of router/modem it is possible that there is some firewall or a DoS protection, some system limits of that device(ex. max concurent connections in table).
Try look onto the configuration of that "part of your small LAN network"
first hint would be try disable DoS protection, cuz some wendors implementation .... is ....
A. anyway you can also tell us what device that is?
B. throw at us few screenshots, of mentioned settings on it.
C. also try find an infos about the terms I mentioned, give us link to the wendor page with manual of product(you know how it looks, we might found something else thro)
D. for the "system limits" how many other pc's are usually in your LAN?
sometimes people forget to answer all the questions....
