MySQL Issue + how to stop the server

Make sure to hit enter after this last line of your ts3db_mysql.ini
[config]
host=******
username=******
password=******
database=******
<--empty line

when I added this my ini the server fired right up on MySQL 5

use only the lines above, adding otheres seemed to stop it from working.

I tried that but I still get the same error.

No matter what I do I always receive an error.

unable to load database plugin library, halting!

I can run sqlite3 no problem, just can't use mysql...

Also, make sure that if your OS is 64 Bit, that you are running a 64Bit server. my host is Debian x64, and I tried running x32... and got the same error.

It is. All my files are in a single folder. I am running x86 though...it seems as if some are getting the amd64 to run if they add a blank line at the end of the db config file. No matter what I do I get the error I mentioned previously.

Hmm. Try removing "dbpluginparameter=/path/to/my/ts3db_mysql.ini" and just make sure the ini is in the folder with the ts3 binary. You may also want to try not using the server ini and running only the necessary options from command line. Something like

./ts3server_linux_x86 dbplugin=ts3db_mysql dbsqlcreatepath=create_mysql/

for the initial run.

Also, have you tried running it through sockets?

that is the wrong parameter.
i say: ./ts3server_linux_x86 dbplugin=ts3db_mysq

dbplugin=<your ini filename WHITHOUT the .INI>

Thank you very much...It now works!!!

One problem though...running Debian testing x86 there is no package libmysqlclient15off in the repository so i had to use a an etch backports package.
