Nickname length

Excellent piece of software! Thank you for your efforts.
Is there anyway to get rid of the limit of 20 chars in the Nickname and increase it to 30 or 40?
On our server all users log in with their full names and the results very often exceed the limit of 20 chars.

yes 20 chars limit is for fullname user shit.. 30 but i thin 40 ist to much , but 30 is ok .

It's not possible to change it, except that the devs change it.

My first idea: Set your first name to your nickname and set the client's description to the full name.

Im the director of a Battlefield 2 Tournament. We require our members to use the following format for their username

[ARMY]DIV.RNK|NAME where ARMY is 4 chars, DIV 1-3chars, and rank 1-3 chars. thats 13 of the 20 already. Now we Can shorten the army names to 3 but that is still up to 12 chars before they even start their name. We require our members Forum name, TS name, and Game name to be a close enough match so that we know who everyone is at all times.

With TS2 default name length we have a few people that have to adjust names to fit. With the TS3 settings this is going to cause issues with roughly 75% of our memberbase.

I would suggest/request that TS2 standards for name length be maintained.

This is something that we need as well. Our gaming clan uses something similar to LuucEarth's format.

{TAG}{NAME}-{RANK}[{Leadership Position}]

Eg: =LB=Xergantheus-SSG [DI]

We can get by for now by putting Rank and Leadership Position in the description.

I would also like if the nickname length limit get a small push, maybe to 30 chars. Some clans already have 6-8 chars for the clantag, they do not have much space for the name .

Yeah, would definitely be great. I personally don't need it, but I know several reasons why this might be needed. 30 chars should be enough.

How about a tag system we could setup server side? Maybe server groups could have those? IDK how that would work but since you guys are using sql, I am sure a string varaible would suffice in the server group...maybe a misc. section?

It is a great way to oranize ppl and to make sure that ppl don't think someone that is impresonaiting an admin is an admin (but icons can avert their thoughts I know)

just gonna kinda miss my tag system i have for my gaming community if it can't be forced on....we are coming from ventrilo.

Has this been added already to DL as DL says beta3 ?

As of right now people still cant fit their name so I assume its not.

And if so will/is there a way to save DB stuff and just replace file ?
