Try starting your Client with administrator privileges. That could be the cause if you installed TS3 as administrator.

I believe this to be a Windows TS3 Client Bug.
I experienced that problem too after setting an avatar on my testserver and then trying to change it again.
It seems like the client cannot delete the cached avatar file in the following folder :
[edit] : maybe I should add that this is a hidden system-folder, however just typing the correct address into your address bar should take you thereCode:[HDD]:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Temp
Manually deleting the file named :
will enable you to change your avatar again.Code:avatar
Probably only once tough, because the cache file will be recreated, so you will have to delete it every time you want to change your avatar.
(its just a simple image file without any extension, adding the extension will reveal that its your avatar)
I hope that this can be fixed in a future release.
(I didnt see any bugreport forum/thread so i'll assume that the devs will read this too
)

Avatar Using ?
Hello,
I have a teamspeak 3 server installed on debian.
Server work fine but i can't use avatar. When a try to set an avatar i have already the same error message.
UIHelpers Info Supported image formats: *.bmp *.gif *.jpeg *.jpg *.pbm *.pgm *.png *.ppm *.xbm *.xpm
ClientUI Info Avatar file size check: 1 51200
ClientUI Warning Failed to remove existing local avatar copy
Port 30033 is open, files upload works...
directory ts3/files/virtualserver_4/internal is empty, is it this directory for avatar?
Why avatar doesn't works?
How resolve this problem?
Thanks

It's not a server problem, it's a client problem :

I am happy it worked for some people, however i am still getting the message, even after i delete the avatar copy in the specified folder. I am also running TS3 as an administrator. Are there any other solutions?

Having the exact same issue, tried deleting the avatar file a couple of times, went into TS3 directory and removed all files and folders in relation to previously added avatars and still will not work

Heh seconds after typing this I found another way around it... I did exactly as said above:
But also went to C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Application Data\TS3Client\cache (XP directories) and deleted the files there which allowed me to add an avatar, also a involves going into hidden folders. That said, that is the install directory so just find where you installed TS3 and open the cache folder, delete and you should be away...

Warning Failed to remove existing local avatar copy
This client I use most is the on the server I, ie master priviledge account key. I have never been able to set an avatar. There is no delete avatar option I see on my other clients, but when I try to "Set Avatar", I see the message "Failed to remove existing local avatar copy" in the client log.
All other clients are able to upload fine. Ports are open on firewall
Ive tried URL and local paths.
Newest server beta and client (DL in the last 3 or 4 days)
