Failed to resolve hostname
Some of the people that are trying to connect to the windows server that I am hosting get this error when connecting to the server.
My Servers IP/Port Is, 74.97.187.201 / 9987.Code:Failed to resolve hostname 'pool-74-97-187-201.prvdri.fios.verizon.net': Host not found
Everyone elce can connect to me, just one or two people can't. I don't know If It's me blocking him or If It's his firewall or something, any ideas?

If you run it from your home computer, you have to add the port of the TS3 server in your Router so every one can connect

If you sent someone the domain name: pool-74-97-187-201.prvdri.fios.verizon.net , you could give them your external ip instead. It seems to contain your current ip and if it changes the domain name probably changes to.
Try http://www.dyndns.com/ for domainnames that are easy to remember and install there client and it will automatically update if you get a new external ip adress.

"pool-74-97-187-201.prvdri.fios.verizon.net" is your IP's reverse DNS record. Your users will need to connect to your server based on a forward record or by IP address.

Commandline parameters are passed to the TeamSpeak 3 Server using the form:
ts3server_<arch> <parameter1>=<value1> [<parameter2>=<value2>] ...
* voice_ip (0.0.0.0)
IP on which the server instance will listen for incoming voice connections.
Default: The server is bound on any IP address.
* query_ip (0.0.0.0)
IP bound for incoming ServerQuery connections. If you specify this parameter,
you also need to specify the "query_port" parameter!
Default: ServerQuery connections are bound on any IP address.
Example:
./ts3server_linux_x86 voice_ip=86.86.86.86 query_ip=86.86.86.86
And please read the manual!!!

Run the server once with the createinifile=1 option. That'll make an ini file in your server's directory that you can use to edit your settings.

I have everything forwarded correctly, people can connect to me fine, just certain ones get this error.If you run it from your home computer, you have to add the port of the TS3 server in your Router so every one can connect
I sent them my IP address, 74.97.187.201 as the domain, that Is the external Im sure.If you sent someone the domain name: pool-74-97-187-201.prvdri.fios.verizon.net , you could give them your external ip instead. It seems to contain your current ip and if it changes the domain name probably changes to.
This Is my ini file:
And people connect fine.Code:machine_id= default_voice_port=9987 voice_ip=192.168.1.115 filetransfer_port=30033 filetransfer_ip=192.168.1.115 query_port=10011 query_ip=192.168.1.115 dbplugin=ts3db_sqlite3 dbpluginparameter= dbsqlpath=sql/ dbsqlcreatepath=create_sqlite/ logpath=logs/ logquerycommands=0

To verify, some of your users are getting a 'host not found' error when connecting via IP address?

I couldn't say really. "Host not found" implies a name resolution error, which shouldn't apply when connecting by IP. Can these users ping your IP address?

Host not found sounds to me like they try to connect to a host name and not IP adress. Can they connect to other server ? Try the Public Teamspeak test server: voice.teamspeak.com
If you change the ini Ip adresses to 0.0.0.0 do they still have the same problem?
