Man this a nightmare Setting up server
Well iv read and search this entire forum only to be 4000% more confused!!! I really wish people would not asume we know everything and start spewing all this tech talk. All i bloody want is FULL admin rights!!!!!! but it seems to be like pulling teeth!!!!!. Been screwing around with this crap for 3 days and im a little pissed that this has to be so damn difficult.
And yes i have read on how to get super admin through server query. Ok so i did that and some server admin join from my internal ip# 192.168.1.3 BUT!!! what in the hell can i do with this query admin?? ***EXACTLY NOTHING***
Did i register for a 512 user licence- YES!
Did i try to get super admin- YES took 3 days and i still cant do jack
Can i increase max users now? - NO!!
Did i put the licence file in the ROOT dir of the server? -YES!!
Did i read this entire forum for help?-YES!!
Did reading all this forum help? -NO!!
Now im sure some of you will post read the help topics posted on this subject.
FYI--** I HAVE READ THIS ENTIRE FORUM EVERY LAST POST** And none of it is clear. It asumes we know everything already,
How to log on as super admin it says the following,
use this code:
TS3
login serveradmin password
error id=0 msg=ok
use 1
error id=0 msg=ok
serveredit virtualserver_maxclients=64
error id=0 msg=ok
First: "TS3" makes the code fail SO WHY ADD LETTERS/#'s into a line what we dont use????
Second: serveredit virtualserver_maxclients=512 DOES NOTHING AT ALL!! max clients is still 32 ( I HAVE A LICENCE)
Third: After using the server query command to login a "serveradmin for 192.168.1.3" joins my server. But this query user is a paper weight!! i cant do jack all with it.
SO IN CLOSING: ALL I WANT IS TO HAVE THE ACCOUNT I LOG ON WITH NORMALLY TO HAVE FULL! RIGHTS TO MY SERVER WHY MUST A DICK AROUND WITH THIS CODE AND THAT CODE WHY CANT IT JUST BE SIMPLE LIKE TS2!!!!!
any CLEAR help would be good instead of a 10 mile long post with script commands and a sentance of explination.
Thanks to anyone who can help sorry for the rant but im getting really pissed off here dog f@&^ around with this increadably complicated and bloated admin system is this really needed?

It is really easy.
First of all log in to your server with putty or telnet on port 10011
Than:
(ServerQuery)
login [username] [password]
Than type
use sid=1
(first virtualserver)
Than type
serveredit virtualserver_maxclients=512
logout
it is important that you have no other virtualserver open because 512 slots are for ALL virtualservers

In the "server query" you can get the right virtual server id by send command serverlist. But if you only have one virtual server, it should be 1.

Darkbolt ... you're showing yourself up. Take a deep breath, and read the posts above again. They're all self-explanatory.
You do not need the [ ]. They're just used as indicators that some variable information that you possess is needed here. I'm amazed you haven't encountered this before.
So, to clarify ... (let us assume your username is serveradmin, your password is abc123, and your server ID is 1):
- Establish your telnet connection (TS3 will appear on the top of the window)
- Type: login serveradmin abc123
- A confirmation will appear: error id=0 msg=ok
- Type: use 1 (this will select your server as the context for the following commands)
- A confirmation will appear: error id=0 msg=ok
- Type: serveredit virtualserver_maxclients=512
- A confirmation will appear: error id=0 msg=ok
- Type: logout
- A confirmation will appear: error id=0 msg=ok
- Close your telnet session, and relax.
I hope that helps. This advice is based on < 24 hours reading the forums, a quick read of the serverquery manual, and a healthy dose of patience.
Enjoy

Darkbolt, I'm minded to agree with you tbh mate, its insanely complicated to set up. I myself have given up with it and will remain using TS2 as I cant even get to the point of being able to connect to the thing as I cant get it to bind to an IP correctly.
I don't wish to hijack your thread though so I will start a new one.

login serveradmin serveradminpass
use 1
servergroupaddclient sgid=2 cldbid=2
try this, then you should be able to edit the max clients in the server menu (rightclick the server name obove the channels when connected)
and think abot this:
TS3 is a BETA! <---!!!
a beta has bugs and stuff is not ready, like a full menu for server managment. try to calm down.

sorry if i seem pissy but i ask if i need [ and buddy starts to ramble on about some crap lol when i asked a simple question.
It only seem logical to me that when you are typing commands for other people that you type them EXACTLY RIGHT how am i supposed to know what damn brackets to leave out or include SO WHY ADD ][ TO A LINE IF THEY DONT EVEN EXIST IN THAT LINE ALL THIS DOES IS CONFUSE PEOPLE. When typing a command like,
login [=xxxx] [xxxxx] --If the [[[ does not go there THEN WHY PUT THEM THERE CUZ FOR THE LAST 3 HOURS IV BEEN TYPING THE [] CUZ SOME ONE PUT IT IN THE COMMANDS WHILE EXPLAINING BUT NOW IM TOLD YOU DONT PUT [[[ THERE SO WHY PUT THE GOD DAMN THINGS THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE LOL DAMN!!! like i am supposed to know what god damn brackets and periods go and what one stay i would not be asking in this forum otherwise.
